3. Kegiatan Pembelajaran
a. Pendahuluan
Sebelum Anda memulai untuk mengikuti kegiatan belajar ini, pastikan Anda sudah
memahami tentang Parts of Speech (Jenis Kata). Namun sebelum itu, perhatikan
gambar berikut ini.

Apa yang bisa kalian ambil pelajaran dari gambar di atas?

Baiklah, untuk mengetahui apa yang sebenarnya terjadi, silahkan kalian membaca
dan memahami cerita di bawah ini.

Yesterday Andi played football with his friends at school. Unluckily, he twisted his ankle. It was too
painful for him to walk home. Thus, he had a ride with his two friends. Because the motorcyle was too
full for the three of them and the rider ran the motorcycle fast enough, he could not control the balance
when they were pasing through a crowded enough area. Their motorcycle hit another motorcycle. As a
result, they fell off the motorcycle.
It was fortunate enough for Andi to get only some bruises. His two friends who had too seroius
injuries to be treated at home, however, should be taken to hospital.

berfikir tinggi melalui tugas-tugas yang terdapat pada UKB ini baik
bekerja sendiri maupun bersama teman sebangku atau teman
lainnya.
c) Kerjakan UKB ini dibuku kerja atau langsung mengisikan pada
bagian yang telah disediakan.
d) Kalian dapat belajar bertahap dan berlanjut melalui kegiatan ayo
berlatih, apabila kalian yakin sudah paham dan mampu

Kevin : The weather is too cold for me.
Ahmad : It really is cold. But not too cold. Well, here is a cup of tea.
Kevin : Thanks a lot. Ouch, it is very hot.
Ahmad : Yeah, but I think it is hot enough for you to sip it.
Kevin : Tha’s a good idea. (after some time) I feel quite warm now. Look, I’m
sweating. Let me take off my sweater.
Ahmad : Oh my. I know why you are wearing sweater. It is not about the
weather that is too cold, but the sweater that is cool enough. Ha ha

Kevin : Ha ha ha. My father bought it for me as a gift. It’s pretty cool, right.

tag. It costs a lot of money. You cannot afford to buy it. Your friend suggests
that you buy another novel that costs less expensive.
2. There is a test today. Your friend, Johan, whose house is not far enough from
school comes a bit late to class. He slept very late last night; thus, he wakes
up late. Your teacher gets angry at him. As his close friend, you are trying to
give him some advice.
