Kolej GENIUS@Pintar Negara, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) merupakan
program khas yang pertama di Malaysia untuk murid yang mempunyai potensi
intelek semula jadi yang tinggi. UKM telah diberi kepercayaan untuk melaksanakan
program ini  sejak Januari 2011. Murid-murid yang mengikuti program ini dipilih
melalui proses ujian-ujian saringan UKM1, UKM2 dan UKM3. Murid mengikuti
program pendidikan yang menyepadukan pembelajaran akademik, ko-kurikulum,
pembinaan sahsiah dan nilai murni melalui pengalaman pembelajaran aktif dan
bermakna. Suasana serta persekitaran sekolah turut dibangunkan agar
menyumbang kepada perkembangan murid yang holistik dan menyeluruh.

FALSAFAH PENDIDIKAN KEBANGSAAN
Pendidikan di Malaysia adalah suatu usaha berterusan ke arah memperkembangkan lagi potensi
individu secara menyeluruh dan bersepadu untuk mewujudkan insan yang seimbang dan harmonis
dari segi intelek, rohani, emosi dan jasmani berdasarkan kepercayaan dan kepatuhan kepada Tuhan.
Usaha ini adalah bagi melahirkan rakyat Malaysia yang berilmu pengetahuan, berketerampilan,
berakhlak mulia, bertanggungjawab dan berkeupayaan mencapai kesejahteraan diri, serta memberi
sumbangan terhadap keharmonian dan kemakmuran keluarga, masyarakat dan negara.

NASIONAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY


Education in Malaysia is an on-going effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in
a holistic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually,
emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God.
Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent,
who possess high moral standards, and who are responsible and capable of achieving high level of
personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family,
the society and the nation at large.
1. Tell me about yourself.
Currently, I serve as a DG41 teacher at SMK Agama Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Which is a the only one SMK Agama Tahfiz school in Sabah, teaching Physics and sciences.

I have been in SMK Agama Kota Kinabalu, Sabah since 2017 until now. Before that, in 2012 I was
teaching at SMK Agama Mohamad Ali, Ranau which is located near to Mount Kinabalu. I was
teaching there for 5 years before moving to my current school.

I graduated at National University of Malaysia (UKM) in Physics (Ed) and I took Mathematics as my
minor.

I also have a diploma in Mechanical Automotive Engineering at Kota Bahru Polytechnic.

I received my early education at MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) PDRM, Kulim Kedah.

2. How would you describe yourself?


I am a proactive and multi-skilled in any field. Not only teaching I am also capable to handle any
other tasks.

For example, I am teaching Physics to form 5 students and at the same time I am given a few tasks to
handle. Firstly, I am a Sports secretary which handle Yearly Sports Event at school. In curriculum as
well, I am actively involved in hockey; as a coach and player. I have brought my team from district to
state level in Sabah.

Besides, I am a secretary of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), which makes it easier for me to
deal with parents and society as a whole. I think these criteria is beneficial for the school once I am
selected for the position. Besides, I am also a secretary of APDM which involved a lot of analysing
data

Saya adalah seorang yang proaktif dan serba boleh dalam segala bidang. Bukan sahaja sebagai
tugasan hakiki mengajar matapelajar Fizik, Matematik dan Sains, saya juga berkebolehan dalam
mengendalikan sebarang tugas lain.

Sebagai contohnya, saya merupakan seorang tenaga pengajar matapelajaran Fizik kelas SPM, dan
pada masa yang sama, saya juga ditugaskan sebagai Setiausaha Sukan yang mengendalikan sukan
tahunan sekolah dan lain lain lagi. Dalam bidang kokurikulum juga, saya aktif dalam penglibatan hoki
sekolah, daerah dan juga negeri Sabah. Saya sebagai jurulatih utama pasukan hoki sekolah, pernah
menjadi jurulatih hoki daerah Ranau pada tahun 2016 dan juga aktif dalam pertandingan hoki
peringkat negeri Sabah.
3. Why do you want to work here?
The school’s mission to be a fountain of inspiration for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
(STEM) Program and Research in the Gifted and Talented Education speaks to me.

As a Physics and Maths teacher, I am interested to bring my career to another level which will
improve myself.

As you know, I am now teaching at a religious school with Tahfiz as the main stream. Obviously, it
focuses more on religious subjects. However, I would like to work at a place where its main focus is
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). And I think, this school could offer me the best
experience to improve my career. In addition, I could contribute to the students here as my major is
in science and maths.

Besides, I am a Kedahan born and bred. My hometown is in Sungai Petani, Kedah which is just 30
minutes away from here. Taking my background into account, it is an advantage for the school as I
can understand the culture here better. I could bring success to my school in Sabah, and, with no
doubt I could bring better improvement here in my own hometown.

Saya sebagai tenaga pengajar Fizik dan Matematik, tertarik untuk berkhidmat di landasan yang betul
dan tepat di dalam kerjaya saya.

Sebagai tuan/puan sedia maklum, saya sekarang mengajar di Sek. Men. Keb Agama aliran Tahfiz.
Kecenderungan dan halatuju sekolah di sini adalah ke arah agama khasnya. Melihat peluang jawatan
ini, saya begitu tertarik untuk berkhidmat di sektor dan landasan yang betul.

Disamping itu, saya merupakan anak jadi Kedah yang membesar di sini, Sungai Petani. Berdasarkan
latar belakang dan pengalaman saya di sini, saya rasa ianya boleh menjadi satu kelebihan bagi pihak
sekolah mempunyai guru yang berasal dari sini. Saya boleh berjaya di negeri orang, Sabah khasnya,
dan mempunyai pencapaian yang cemerlang selama 8 tahun saya di Sabah, pasti saya akan lebih
cemerlang apabila di negeri kelahiran sendiri.

4. What are your greatest weaknesses?


Earlier in my career I noticed that because I was so enthusiastic about my work, I had a tendency to
say ‘yes’ when I should have been saying ‘no.’ At one point I ended up so overwhelmed by my
workload and taking on so many works that I was working evenings, nights and weekends. It was
stressful and that stress affected my production quality. I realized this was counterproductive, so I
started using workload management tools to set better expectations for myself and my teammates.”
5. What are your goals for the future?
I would like to continue developing my marketing expertise over the next several years. One of the
reasons I’m interested in working for a fast-growing start-up company is that I’ll have the ability to
wear many hats and collaborate with many different departments. I believe this experience will
serve me well in achieving my ultimate goal of someday leading a marketing department.”

I would like to further my studies to a higher level without neglecting my duty as a teacher.
Knowledge is a continuous learning process and I keep believing in this in hope that I could share my
experience and knowledge to my students later.

Saya ingin menyambung pelajaran ke peringkat yang lebih tinggi tanpa perlu mengabaikan tugasan
saya sebagai pengajar. Ilmu adalah satu proses pembelajaran yang tidak berhenti dan dengan moto
inilah saya ingin menyambung pelajaran ke peringkat tertinggi suatu hari nanti dan berharap dengan
ilmu-ilmu ini saya dapat menyalurkan kepada para pelajar saya juga. inshaAlllah

6. Where do you see yourself in five years?


In 5 years time, I could see myself in a perfect place which is in a science stream school or Akademi
Pintar, Pendang.

Within that time as well, or 3 years later, after I receive my promotion to DG 44, I would like to apply
for Guru Cemerlang as well. In order to get this position, teachers have to be in the same grade for 3
years.

With this in mind, surely, it will be my motivation to work harder and smarter if I am accepted to
work in this school.

Dalam masa lima tahun yang akan datang, saya melihat diri saya berada di landasan yang betul,
tempat yang betul dan matlamat yang betul iaitu mengajar di sekolah sains berasrama penuh
ataupun sekolah Akademik Permata Pintar, Pendang.

Dalam masa lima tahun juga, ataupun 3tahun selepas ini apabila saya sudah mendapat surat
kenaikan Pangkat DG44, saya akan memohon sebagai guru cemerlang. Di mana syarat bagi
memohon jawatan guru cemerlang antaranya ialah selepas tiga tahun berada di gred semasa.

Dengan cita-cita dan hala tuju ini, pasti menjadi satu pendorang semangat bagi saya bekerja di sini
sekirannya diterima.
7. Can you tell me about a difficult work situation and how you overcame it?
Situasi yang sukar bagi saya ialah, selalu diberikan arahan di minit terakhir dan arahan yang tiba-tiba
datang dan kerja yang diluar bidang saya.

I make it as lesson to learn and will always be prepared next time.

For instance, I will not procrastinate in preparing and completing all files to avoid any last minute
work.

Besides, if any work given to me which is outside my concern, I will regard it as a new knowledge to
gain and I am willing to do it.

It will be easier if we do anything sincerely.

Saya menjadikan ia sebagai satu pengajaran dan lebih sentiasa bersedia lain kali.

Contohnya saya sentiasa melengkapkan fail-fail tanpa perlu diminta, jadi bila-bila diperlukan, tiada
lagi kerja last minit.

Selain daripada itu, apabila diberikan kerja-kerja di luar bidang saya, saya sering mengangap bahawa
ini adalah ilmu baru dan sentiasa ikhlas dalam melaksanakannya.

Benda ini menjadi lebih mudah apabila kita ikhlas.

8. How do you handle stress?


I’m able to stay calm when I focus on the bigger picture and break down my projects into smaller
tasks. What is the ultimate goal I’m trying to achieve? From there, I make a list of action items with
reasonable deadlines. Even if the big project is due tomorrow, I ask myself, ‘What’s something I can
tackle in the next 30 minutes?’ Before I know it, I’ve made significant progress and that impossible
project doesn’t seem so impossible.”
9. What is your greatest accomplishment?
Talking about my achievement, I consistently help my 2019 SPM students to gain GPMP 3.11 in
Physics. We successfully placed ourselves at the 7 th place among the top schools in Sabah.

Besides, a 2020 SPM candidate which has been taught by me managed to get the top student among
religious schools in Sabah.

In cocurricular, I managed to help coaching successful athletes especially in Hockey until we could
represent our district to Sabah state level tournaments.

Pencapaian dalam kerjaya saya ialah, saya membawa dan membimbing pelajar-pelajar calon SPM
2019 dalam matapelajaran Fizik mendapat GPMP 3.11 di mana tempat ketujuh terbaik sekolah-
sekolah yang mengambil Fizik di Sabah.

Selain itu, calon Fizik SPM 2020 di bawah seliaan saya juga mendapat tempat pertama sekolah
Agama di Sabah.

Dalam bidang kokurikulum pula, saya banyak melahirkan atlit-atlit yang berjaya terutamanya dalam
sukan permainan Hoki. Sehingga lahirnya atlet hoki yang mewakili sekolah ke peringkat Negeri
Sabah.

10. How do you define success?


I define success as fulfilling my role in my team and in the company. I work toward completing my
individual duties as effectively as possible, balancing that with professional growth and contributing
to larger organizational goals. In my previous role, success meant exceeding weekly metrics,
implementing processes that supported the company’s KPIs and meeting quarterly professional
development goals.”
