1. Anda dikehendaki menjalankan satu eksperimen untuk mengkaji dan menentukan kepekatan
larutan yang isotonik terhadap sap sel kentang.
You are required to conduct an experiment to study and determine the concentration of an
isotonic solution to potatoe cell sap.

Jalankan eksperimen dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah di bawah:


Carryout the experiment by using the steps below:

1. Sediakan 5 piring petri yang dilabel A, B, C, D dan E.


Prepare 5 petri dish labeled A, B, C, D and E.

2. Sediakan 5 jalur kentang dengan menggunakan penebuk gabus. Panjang setiap jalur adalah 5
cm dan berdiameter 0.4 cm. Timbang jisim awal setiap jalur kentang.
Prepare potatoe strips using a cork borer. The length of each strip is 5 cm and diameter
0.4cm. Weigh the initial mass of each potato strip.

3. Tuangkan semua larutan dari bikar A, B, C, D dan E ke dalam setiap piring petri sehingga
hampir penuh. Kandungan setiap bikar adalah seperti berikut:
Empty the solution from beakers A, B, C, D and E into each petri dish. The contents of each
beaker are as follows:

Bikar A: Air suling


Beaker A: Distilled water

Bikar B: Larutan sukrosa 0.2 M


Beaker B: 0.2 M Sucrose solution

Bikar C: Larutan sukrosa 0.4 M


Beaker C: 0.4 M Sucrose solution

Bikar D: Larutan sukrosa 0.6 M


Beaker D: 0.6 M Sucrose solution

Bikar E: Larutan sukrosa 0.8 M


Beaker E: 0.8 M Sucrose solution

4. Masukkan jalur kentang ke dalam setiap piring petri berlabel A, B, C, D dan E yang telah di
sediakan. Rendam selama 15 minit.
Insert potatoe strips into each petri dish labeled A, B, C, D and E that has been prepared. Soak
for 15 minutes.

5. Selepas direndam keluarkan setiap keratan kentang daripada piring petri. Lap kering dengan
kertas turas. Ukur jisim jalur kentang untuk mendapatkan jisim akhir. Catatkan nilai dalam
jadual di (b).
After soaking, remove each strip of potatoe from the petri dish. Wipe until it dry with filter paper.
Weigh each strip of potatoe to obtain the final length. Record the values in the table in (b).
