keseluruhannya. Secara umum, frasa endosentris memiliki tiga distribusi yaitu frasa endosentris
atributif, frasa endosentris koordinatif, dan frasa endosentris apositif.
Abstract
This journal uses a descriptive method with qualitative data. So the guide in this research is the
writer's interpretation of the communication activities in the story "Robohnya Surau Kami" by
AA Navis, by analyzing the use of edoncentric phrases. This short story about the collapse of our
Surau tells the story of a place where an old surau collapsed. Then someone came there with a
sincere heart and permission from the local community for the garin or surau guard, and until
now the surau is still standing. Even though my grandfather was able to live because of other
people's alms, but there was one main thing that survived, namely he was willing to work as a
knife sharpener. From this job he can earn a fortune, whether it be in the form of money, food,
cakes, or cigarettes. This grandfather's life was very monotonous. He only sharpens knives,
accepts imbalances, cleans and maintains the surau, worships in the surau, and works only for his
own purposes. The results of the work are not for anyone else, let alone for his wife and children
who he never thought of. Abdul Chaer (2012, p. 226) states that an endocentric phrase is a phrase
in which one of its elements or components has the same syntactic behavior as the whole. That
is, one of its components can restore its overall position. In general, endocentric phrases have
three distributions, namely attributive endocentric phrases, coordinating endocentric phrases, and
appositive endocentric phrases.
