ABSTRACT
During the cold war period, countries in the world chose between two superpowers, namely the United States
with the ideology of Liberalism and the Soviet Union with the ideology of Communism. This has caused many
countries to experience division and disruption of the international relations system. This article aims to
analyze how international trade relations within countries included in the Eastern Bloc until after the collapse
of the Soviet Union by means of a research method based on literature review and has benefits as a source of
learning and information on the conditions of international trade relations in the Eastern Bloc countries.
Through various sources of literature obtained, the hypothesis is that the trade & economic relations of the
Eastern Bloc countries during the cold war period underwent pressure and domination from the Soviet Union
and after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the country received autonomy to regulate international relations
& its economy.
