 PENGERTIAN PRAGMATISME

Pragmatisme berasal dari kata

Pragmatisme adalah aliran dari
pragma (bahasa yunani) yang berarti
filsafat yang berpandangan bahwa
tindakan, perbuatan. Pragmatisme
kriteria kebenaran sesuatu adalah
adalah suatu aliran yang mengajarkan
apakah sesuatu itu memiliki kegunaan
bahwa yang benar yang dibuktikan
bagi kehidupan nyata oleh sebab itu
dirinya sebagai benar dengan
kebenaran sifatnya menjadi relative
perantara akibat-akibatnya yang
tidak mutlak
bermanfaat secara praktis.

Pragmatisme
 (William James)
Di dalam bukunya the Maening Of Truth, Arti kebenaran, James
mengemukakan bahwa tiada kebenaran yang mutlak, yang berlaku 1842-1910
umum, yang bersifat tetap yang berdiri sendiri dan terlepas dari
segala akal yang mengenal. Sebab pengalaman kita berjalan terus
dan segala yang kita anggap benar dalam pengembangan itu
senantiasa berubah, kaena dalam prakteknya apa yang kita anggap
benar dapat dikoreksi oleh pengalaman berikutnya.

James membawakan pragmatisme. Isme ini diturunkan kepada

Dewey yang mempraktekannya kedalam pendidikan. Pemdidikan
menghasilkan orang Amerika sekarang. Dengan kata lain orang
yang paling bertanggungjawab terhadap gernerasi Amerika
sekarang adalah Wiliam James dan John Dewey.

Dewey adalah seorang yang pragmatis, menurutnya

pragmatisme bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kehidupan manusia
serta lingkungannya atau mengatur kehidupan manusia serta
aktivitasnya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusiawi.
Sebagai pengikut pragmatism John Dewey menyatakan bahwa
tugas filsafat adalah memberikan pengaruh bagi kehidupan
nyata. Filsafat tidak boleh larut dalam pemikiran-pemikiran
metafisik yang kurang praktis tidak ada faedahnya.
Dewey lebih suka menyebut sistemnya dengan istilah
instrumentalisme. Pengalaman adalah salah satu kunci dalam
filsafat instrumentalisme.

Pragmatisme
Kekiliruan Pragmatism dapat di buktikan dalam 3
tataran pemikiran, dari segi:

Landasan pragtisme
Pragmatisme dilandaskan pada pemikiran
dasar (Aqidah) pemisahan agama dari
kehidupan (sekularisme). Hal ini Nampak dari
perkembangan historis kemunculan
pragmatisme yang merupakan perkembangan
lebih lanjut dari empirisme. Dengan demikian
dalam konteks idiologis, pragmatisme berarti
menolak agama sebagai sumber ilmu
pengetahuan.
Metode Pemikiran
Pragmatisme yang tercabang
dari Emperisme Nampak jelas
menggunakan metode Ilmiyah
yang menjadikan sebagai asas
berfikir untuk segala bidang
pemikiran baik yang berkenaan
dengan saint danteknologi
maupun ilmu-ilmu sosial
kemasyarakatan ini adalah satu
kekeliruan.

mengukur kebenaran suatu ide
dengan kegunaan praktis yang
dihasilkanya untuk memenuhi
kebutuhan manusia. Ide ini
keliru dari tiga sisi.
