CARA MEMBUAT ORIGAMI BINTANG KECIL

9. Akhirnya, origami bintang dapat dihasilkan !

WHEN I WAS …
To start of, when I was a kid, I moved schools quite a lot due to my mum's job. I was born in
Kota Bharu but I grew up in Johor Bharu.
Initially, I went to SRK (P) Zainab 1 when I was in Standard 1, spent a few months there and
moved to Johor Bharu and went to SK Taman Suria from Standard 1 to 3. Followed by SK
Taman Daya from Standard 4 to 5. I also spent half a year in Convent Girls School Bukit
Mertajam,Penang when I was in Standard 5.
Then I moved to SK Ulu Tiram for Standard 6.
I remember when I was in Standard 1, one of my teachers threw away one of my classmate's
book out of the window for not finishing her homework and from that day onwards I
promised to myself that I would study hard and get first in class every year.
My mum used to teach at Maktab Perguruan Temenggung Ibrahim, so when I was in primary
school I used to follow her around in class and sat at the back and listened to her lectures and
tried to solve all the mathematical problems by myself as I got bored with my homework.
I even helped her to mark the exam papers! (and those students were training to become
teachers)
When I was 13, I got bored with the school syllabus,so I asked my mum to buy lots of add
math and physics books especially.
I love solving problems. I would sit hours and hours doing add math questions because I
found it fascinating and fun.
And also drawing diagrams for biology and chemical structures. I didn't like playing video
games, those things were fun for me I guess.
When I was studying for SPM, I would do 50 questions a day after school. Practice makes
perfect.
After UPSR, I got offered to go to MRSM and Tunku Kurshiah College. Because I didn't want to
be too far away from home , I requested to be transferred to Sekolah Tun Fatimah, JB. I spent
a few months there and decided to go back to normal state school.
So I went to SMK Ulu Tiram, sat my PMR- got 8As. Again, I was offered to go to MRSM and
Sekolah Tun Fatimah.
I knew at that point I wanted to be different. I wanted to take 17 subjects because I wanted
to challenge myself. I expressed my thoughts to the teachers at Sekolah Tun Fatimah, and
they were very supportive and wanted to arrange extra coaching for myself.
I was very grateful. However, I knew that I wanted to do it on my own. I didn't want any extra
coaching or privileges.
So I decided to leave STF and went back to a normal daily school. I believe that no matter I
am, if I have the motivation to do it, I will still succeed. So I taught myself 7 extra subjects.
Never in million years, I would have thought it would be such a big thing on the news and
that I would be where I am today. My mum is my main motivation, I would like to make her
happy, and that is why I always aim high and strive for excellence.
People say 'Syurga itu di bawah tapak kaki ibu.'
I also believe on merit and equality. I don't believe that people should get special treatment
and more opportunities because of their race or where they come from. It's a big world out
there. If you want to compete internationally, you just have to be good at what you do
andyou'll survive. No one will help you, only you and yourself.
Don't be dependent, don't rely on other people.
Only you can decide your own destiny.
It has been a long journey for me and I'm still learning and I still have a long way to go to
achieve my dreams.
However, these are the values that I will always keep in my mind, keep your feet on the
ground, stay true to yourself, respect other people, be kind and treat other people the way
that you want to be treated, you will go far. Remember to say 'thank you' and 'please'. Be
polite.
They are simple things in life but that will make you a better human being.
And obviously have some fun too. Work life balance is very important to me and that keeps
me sane with the amount of stress that I have to deal with at work. Work hard, play harder .
AMALINA’S STUDY TIPS FOR EXAMS .

Here are some study hacks to improve your revision techniques.

1. Get organised and plan your study schedule. Find out all the dates of your exams and put
them in your diary and plan your revision accordingly.
2. Have one goal everyday. Make sure that when you wake up in the morning, you know
what needs to be done that day, if you want to finish 3 chapters of your biology textbook,
then do it!
3. Use mnemonics. This is definitely very useful when I was in med school when you have to
absorb a large volume of information at one time.
4. Draw diagrams to aid your memory and use colourful pens.
5. Speak out loud instead of reading, it will also keep you awake.
6. Use online resources like YouTube tutorials (I found that useful for anatomy) and various
amounts of other information online.
7. Reward yourself with a treat when you manage to achieve your goal(s) at the end of the
day. That could be either watching a movie, treat yourself to a nice dinner or anything that
you enjoy doing!
8. Exercise is very important. I normally go to the gym 2-3x a week, to get a toned body and a
healthy brain gym is also fun! Squats, deadlift, some cardio or even classes like kickboxing or
yoga. I still do them now! Careful, I have a red belt in taekwando and don't forget to eat
healthy!
9. I love listening to the music while studying. When I was in med school, I listened to a lot of
classical music.
10. Study in a group. I had a group of 3 friends who I studied together with during my final
year of med school
11. Finally, practice, practice and practice. Do lots of questions and past papers !
12. And remember, have some fun too! #WorkHardPlayHarder
