terdapat pemukiman warga.

setiap kepada kesultanan di atas Bukit Siguntang.
The History of Siguntang Hill
In the book of the history of the Malay kings written in Perlis, Malaysia, it is
mentioned that there is an area located in the Tatang River Estuary, this area which
became known as Palembang. Then in the upper reaches of the Muara Tatang River
there is the Malay River whose water flows into the Tatang River, near the Malay
River this towers a hill known as Bukit Siguntang.
Siguntang Hill is a place that is considered sacred and full of charisma since the 14-
17 century. In addition to being a burial place for descendants of the Kingdom of
Srivijaya, Bukit Siguntang since the 7th century has become a place of worship for
Buddhists. This is evidenced by the discovery of a Buddhist statue with a height of
2.77 meters made of granite.
Other historical objects found around Siguntang Hill are broken pottery and pottery
from the Tang Dynasty. The discovery of broken pieces of ceramics and pottery in
the Siguntang Hill region also proves that, besides being used as a center for
Buddhist activities, in this settlement there are also believed to be residential
settlements.
For the purpose of preserving the objects of discovery are then stored in the
Balaputera Dewa Museum and partly in the Sriwijaya Museum in the Archaeological
Park Complex of the Sriwijaya Kingdom.

surrounded by trees. The place that became the leader of many figures from the
heyday of the Srivijaya Kingdom. It is even said that Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II
had invited the leaders in the interior of Palembang to swear an oath to the sultanate
on Siguntang Hill.
