MODUL PRAKTIKUM II
INSTRUMENTASI INTENSITAS CAHAYA
MENGGUNAKAN SENSOR LDR
A. Tujuan Praktikum
Membuat rangkaian Pemantauan Intensitas Cahaya menggunakan LDR
dan Arduino,
Memasukan data coding
Memantau intensitas cahaya dengan menggunakan resistansi dari sensor
LDR ( Light Dependent Resistor ).
Membuat grafik dari intensitas cahaya terhadap waktu.
Membuat Laporan hasil praktikum intensitas cahaya.
B. Manfaat Pratikum
Mahasiswa dapat mengetahui cara memantau intensitas cahaya dengan
menggunakan resistansi dari sensor LDR ( Light Dependent Resistor ).
C. Dasar Teori
1. Light Dependent Resistor (LDR)
Light Dependent Resistor ( LDR ) merupakan salah satu jenis resistor yang
memiliki kepekaan terhadap cahaya. LDR ini bekerja apabila terkena oleh
rangsangan cahaya. Pada kondisi gelap, resistansi dari LDR menjadi lebih
tinggi ( umumnya nilai hambatannya sekitar 200k ). Sedangkan pada saat
terkena cahaya yang terang, resistansinya dapat menurun secara drastis ( nilai
hambatannya menjadi 500). Karena terjadi perubahan nilai resistansi itulah
yang membuat LDR dapat digunakan sebagai sensor cahaya. Dengan
membaca nilai dari sensor tersebut kita dapat mendeteksi apakah lingkungan
disekitar sensor tersebut gelap atau terang, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai
sensor untuk lampu penerangan jalan.
Light Dependent Resistor ( LDR ) ini terbuat dari bahan Kadmium Sulfida
( CdS ) . Sensor ini memiliki berbagai macam bentuk dan ukuran, serta
memiliki berbagai macam resistansi dengan rentang yang berbeda-beda.

LDR ini memiliki 2 buah kaki elektroda yang bersifat fotokonduktif. Ketika
cahaya mengenai suatu material yang bersifat fotokonduktif, material tersebut
akan kehilangan resistansinya dan menyebabkan tegangan listrik dapat
mengalir dari satu kaki ke kaki yang lain dengan lancar.
