Tarragon Corn Chowder Recipe

Ingredients:
- ears corn
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped fennel bulb
- 2 minced garlic
- 3 bay leaves
- 4 small potatoes, cut into chunks
- Salt
- ½ cup white wine
- 1 - 2 tbsp fresh chopped tarragon
Method:
1. Grill the corn directly over heat about 10-15 minutes to get extra flavor.
2. Cut the corn kernels away from the cobs.
3. Boil 6 cups water and bay leaves and add the corn cobs to make corn broth.
4. Heat the pot; add butter, chopped onion, fennel and garlic. Saute for about 5 minutes.
5. Add the white wine and boil them down by half. Add potatoes to the pot with onions and fen-
nel, then pour in the corn broth. Stir well and add salt to taste. Simmer gently until the potatoes
are tender.
6. Last, add the fresh tarragon to the pot.

Ingredients:
• 3 or 4 ripe bananas, mashed
• 1/3 cup melted butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

 Method:
• Preheat the oven to 3500 F (1750C).
• With a wooden spoon, mix butter with the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl, add sugar,
egg and vanilla.
• Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix them.
• Add the flour, then mix it.
• Pour mixture into a buttered 4 x 8 inch loaf pan.
• Bake for 1 hour.
• Cool on rack then remove it from pan and slice to serve.

Making Candles

Tool and Ingredient :

• wax moulds,
• wick,
• dye discs,
• essential oils,
• and a double boiler.

Steps :
• First of all, melt the wax. All wax has a flash point, so to prevent it bursting into flames,
you must melt it in a double boiler, with water in the bottom pan.
• Then, prepare the mould with the wick. Thread the wick through the mould and make
sure that you leave a good few centimeters sticking out of the hole in the bottom.
• After that, add the scent. If you want a scented candle, add a few drops of essential oil to
the melted wax. You can use any essential oil you like, as long as it doesn’t contain water.
• Next step, pour the wax into the mould. Try and tip the wax into the mould quickly, all
in one go, to minimize spillage and air bubbles.
• Then, release the bubbles and top it up. Releasing the air bubbles will eventually make
the candle sink, so you will need to top it up with more melted wax.
• Finally, remove it from the mould. After four or five hours, the candle can be taken out
of its mould.
• Your candle is now ready for display. Remember, you must always leave it for a day before
lighting it.

How to Make Getuk Goreng
Ingredients:
- 1 kg cassava, peeled and thrown coir centre of cassava
- 250 g of palm sugar, sliced soft
- 75 g of rice flour
- 1 tablespoon of wheat flour and salt
- A little of cooking oil
Steps:
1. Cut the cassava into pieces and boil or steam until cooked.
2. Meanwhile, add palm sugar in a little boiling water until dissolved and well blended.
3. Crush the cassava while it is hot, and add palm sugar until they are well blended.
4. Flatten cassava on a tray, make 2 cm thick and cut like a box 4 x 5 cm.
5. Mix the rice flour, wheat flour, salt and some water until thick dough.
6. Heat oil and dip getuk into the dough before frying.
7. Fry getuk until its color turns to golden brown and remove from heat carefully.

Teks procedure dapat berupa cara membuat ataupun manggunakan sesuatu, seperti manual
(petunjuk pemakaian alat rekam suara, petunjuk pemakaian kamera, petunjuk pemasangan mesin
cetak), resep masakan, langkah kerja percobaan/ eksperimen, dan tutorial (cara mengedit foro
dengan suatu program tertentu dan cara membuat kerajinan tangan).
Struktur teks procedure :

3. Steps/ methods: mencantumkan langkah-langkah dalam membuat atau melakukan sesuatu
dengan urut.
Ciri-ciri kebahasaan teks procedure:
1. Menggunakan simple present tense, sering dalam bentuk kalimat perintah (imperative)
2. Menggunakan kata penghubung temporal (first, then, next, finally) atau penomoran untuk
menunjukkan urutan.
3. Menggunakan kata kerja tindakan (action verbs).

Ingredients:
250 gr flour, 70 gr butter, 1 egg, 2 pieces of chicken legs, 100 gr carrot, 50 gr scallions, 4
pieces of shallots, 2 pieces of garlic, 15cc sweet soy-sauce, 200 gr bread crumbs, salt.
Direction:
• Mix 1/2 of the egg with flour and butter
• Form thin layer of squares - for wrappers

• Grind shallots and garlic.
• Heat pan with butter, put in shallots and garlic.

• Cook until chicken is done.
• Put 1 spoon of the result above into each square.
• Wrap it.
• Dip it in the 1/2 egg left, pour flour.

 An oil lamp is basically a candle without the wax. There is still a wick and the flame is still hot.
Things You’ll Need
- String
- Cork
- A glass or bowl
- Food colouring if desired
- Water
- Fire or a match box
- Pin or needle to thread the string
through the cork
Steps
1. Find a piece of cork. One from a wine bottle works perfectly or you can buy a sheet of it
from a craft store.
2. Cut the cork so it’s flat on the bottom. (A wine bottle cork would be cut lengthwise in half,
for instance, maybe even cut it twice so that you have a 1/4” slice)
3. Use a needle or a straight pin to poke a hole through the cork. You might want to do this
before cutting it, in the case of the wine bottle cork, because it is stronger before it is cut.
You can also use the hole made by the corkscrew, possibly expanding it a bit.
4. Thread a cotton string through so it looks like a candle wick. Coat with some wax for it to
stick up.
5. Fill a glass or bowl 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the way with water.
6. Very slowly pour some cooking oil (olive oil doesn’t leave a smell) over the water to make
a layer of oil.
7. Place the cork on the oil and wait 15 minutes for the wick to absorb the oil before lighting.

A Basic Recipe for Fried Rice

Ingredients:
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon salt
• salt and pepper to taste
• 4 tablespoons cooking oil or as needed
• 3 cups cooked rice
• 1 – 2 tablespoons light soy sauce or oyster sauce, as desired
Steps:
1. Lightly beat the eggs with salt and pepper.
2. Heat a wok and add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, pour the eggs. Stir
until it is lightly scrambled but not too dry. Remove the eggs and clean out the wok.
3. Add another 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add the rice and stir-fry for a few minutes, using
a wooden spatula. Put soy sauce as desired.
4. Add the scrambled egg back into the pan. Mix thoroughly. Serve hot.

 How to Make Fried Potato

Ingredients
• 4 red potatoes
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 teaspoon paprika
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Equipment
• Large skillet
• Plate

Steps
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm,
about 15 minutes.
2. Drain the potatoes and cut them into 1/2 inch cubes when they are already cool.
3. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and green
pepper. Cook about 5 minutes stirring often, until soft. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
