Making Candles
Steps :
• First of all, melt the wax. All wax has a flash point, so to prevent it bursting into flames,
you must melt it in a double boiler, with water in the bottom pan.
• Then, prepare the mould with the wick. Thread the wick through the mould and make
sure that you leave a good few centimeters sticking out of the hole in the bottom.
• After that, add the scent. If you want a scented candle, add a few drops of essential oil to
the melted wax. You can use any essential oil you like, as long as it doesn’t contain water.
• Next step, pour the wax into the mould. Try and tip the wax into the mould quickly, all
in one go, to minimize spillage and air bubbles.
• Then, release the bubbles and top it up. Releasing the air bubbles will eventually make
the candle sink, so you will need to top it up with more melted wax.
• Finally, remove it from the mould. After four or five hours, the candle can be taken out
of its mould.
• Your candle is now ready for display. Remember, you must always leave it for a day before
lighting it.
PROCEDURE TEXT
Teks procedure merupakan teks yang menjelaskan cara melakukan atau membuat sesuatu
melalui serangkaian tindakan atau langkah. Langkah-langkah tersebut harus dilakukan secara runtut
agar hasilnya sesuai dengan yang dikehendaki.
Teks procedure dapat berupa cara membuat ataupun manggunakan sesuatu, seperti manual
(petunjuk pemakaian alat rekam suara, petunjuk pemakaian kamera, petunjuk pemasangan mesin
cetak), resep masakan, langkah kerja percobaan/ eksperimen, dan tutorial (cara mengedit foro
dengan suatu program tertentu dan cara membuat kerajinan tangan).
Struktur teks procedure :
1. Aim/ goal: mengemukakan atau memperkenalkan sesuatu yang akan dibuat atau dilakukan.
Biasanya muncul dalam teks sebagai judul.
2. Ingredients/ materials: memaparkan bahan-bahan atau material yang dibutuhkan.
Bagian ini tidak harus selalu ada dalam teks procedure.
3. Steps/ methods: mencantumkan langkah-langkah dalam membuat atau melakukan sesuatu
dengan urut.
Ciri-ciri kebahasaan teks procedure:
1. Menggunakan simple present tense, sering dalam bentuk kalimat perintah (imperative)
2. Menggunakan kata penghubung temporal (first, then, next, finally) atau penomoran untuk
menunjukkan urutan.
3. Menggunakan kata kerja tindakan (action verbs).

2. … at high speed for 5-10 minutes or using a hand whisk until the mixture is foamy and thick.

Coke Float. Coke with a difference! Afrothy non-alcoholic, creamy delights which is great to serve
at parties. Delight in our Coke Float.
You will need:
• 3 scoops of ice cream
• 1 1/2 ltr coke
• 3 glasses
• 3 straws
• 1 spoon
Steps:
Spoon one scoop of ice cream into each glass. Take the jug of coke and pour it in equal amounts,
into each glass. Swizzle quickly with your spoon to create a frothy effect. Finally place a straw
into each glass.Your coke float is now ready to serve!
Risoles
Ingredients:
250 gr flour, 70 gr butter, 1 egg, 2 pieces of chicken legs, 100 gr carrot, 50 gr scallions, 4
pieces of shallots, 2 pieces of garlic, 15cc sweet soy-sauce, 200 gr bread crumbs, salt.
Direction:
• Mix 1/2 of the egg with flour and butter
• Form thin layer of squares - for wrappers
• Remove the bones from the chicken legs, cut them into small pieces
• Skin carrots, boil until half done, and cut into tiny pieces. Cut scallions into tiny
pieces.
• Grind shallots and garlic.
• Heat pan with butter, put in shallots and garlic.
• In a couple of minutes, put in chicken
• Stir a little bit, and put in carrots, scallions
• Mix evenly.
• Add salt and pepper to taste, add sweet soy-sauce.
• Cook until chicken is done.
• Put 1 spoon of the result above into each square.
• Wrap it.
• Dip it in the 1/2 egg left, pour flour.
• Heat oil in a pan.
• Deep fry the risoles on medium heat until golden brown.
• Serve with hot chili pepper.

Steps
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm,
about 15 minutes.
2. Drain the potatoes and cut them into 1/2 inch cubes when they are already cool.
3. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and green
pepper. Cook about 5 minutes stirring often, until soft. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
4. remaining 2 tablespoons of oil into the skillet and turn heat to medium-high.
5. Add potato cubes, salt, paprika and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes
are browned about 10 minutes.
6. Stir in the onions, green peppers and parsley and cook for another minute. Serve hot.
