C. DESRIPTION
 Definition:
Procedure text is a kind of text to explain how to operate or make something and its
function is to describe how something is completely done through a sequence of series.

 Generic Structures of procedure text:


a. Goal/Title
b. Material/Ingredients and Tools.
c. Steps/Procedures.

 Linguistic Features of Procedure text


 Grammar: Use Simple Present Tense:
 Patterns : I/You/We/They/ + V1 + O
He/She/It/ + V1 +s/es + O
Example: We take ripe bananas
S + V1 + O

 Use Imperative sentences/Instructions:


Example : Put the rice flour into the bowl.

 Uses Temporal Conjunctions:


Example :First, Second,…, …, Then, After that, Next, Finally, Lastly, etc.

How to Make Sweet Hot Tea
Iced Tea
Ingredients:
 Tea
 Hot water
 Sugar
 A glass/ A cup
 Spoon

To begin make a glass of sweet hot tea, you may look up to the instruction
below:
1. Boil water until 100C.
2. Pick a glass/ a cup and put a bag of tea.
3. Add some sugar.
4. When the water is boiled, pour it into the glass.
5. A glass of sweet hot tea is ready to be served.

Making Lemonade
You will need:
1. A liter of jug
2. A wooden spoon
3. A lemon squeezer
4. Three lemons
5. A cup of sugar
6. Water
7. Knife

Steps:
1. Carefully cut the lemons in half and squeeze them on the lemon
squeezer.
2. Pour the lemon juice into the jug.
3. Add the sugar.
4. Stir until the sugar is completely mixed in.
5. Taste the lemonade. If it is not sweet enough, add more sugar to the
jug and stir.

‘A cup of Black Coffee’


1. Boil the water until 100 Celsius.
2. Pick a cup.
3. Put a spoon of black coffee powder.
4. Don't forget to add some sugar.
5. If you like milk, you can also add it into your coffee
6. Pour the hot water into the cup.
7. A cup of black coffee is ready to be drunk.

How to Make Apple Juice


You will need:
- ½ glass milk Method:

Examples of Foods/meals:
How to make a Cheese Omelet

Steps:
First, crack an egg into a bowl. Next, whisk the egg with a fork until it is smooth.
Then, add milk and whisk well. Second, grate the cheese into the bowl and stir. After that, heat
the oil in fraying pan. Third, turn the omelet with spatula when it browns. Then, cook both
sides and finally place on a plate; season with salt and pepper. Cheese omelet is ready to be
eaten while warm.
Mung Bean Porridge

Ingredients:
One cup of mung bean
4 tablespoonfuls of sugar
½ teaspoonful of salt
5 cups of water

Steps:
1. Wash the mung bean.
2. Boil the water.
3. Put the mung bean into the boiling water.
4. Let the mung bean become tender.
5. Add the salt and the sugar.
6. Simmer for 30 minutes.
7. Serve the mung bean porridge.
HOW TO MAKE “SAMBAL LU’AT
Ingredients:
 4 lemons
 2 ounces of chili
 1 handful of basil leaves
 3 ounces of tomatoes
 2 table-spoonful of salt
Steps:
 Crush the chili
 Slice the lemon into small pieces
 Mix the lemons, chili, basil leaves,Bose
“Cooking salt, Corn”
and tomatoes together

Steps: Sambal Lu’at is ready to accompany your meals.

First, take 1kg of corn. Second, mix the corn in the pot with beans or peanuts. Third, wash
the corn and beans for ± 3 times. Next, pour 2 liters of water. Then, boil “Bose Corn” in a
pot in approximately 15 minutes. After that, add some coconut milk (optional). Let stand for
20 minutes until the ingredients cooked properly. Lastly, bose is ready to be served.

“Make Banana Bread”

First of all, preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Second, butter and line a square cake tin.
Third, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Fourth, beat in eggs, bananas and
vanilla. Next, sift the dry ingredients together. Then, mix together the milk and lemon juice.
Add the dry ingredients and the milk, beating between each addition (alternative). After
that, bake in the oven for approximately 45 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Finally, let it in the tin for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool.

How to turn on Television

Steps/Methods:
1. Connect the cable of television to an AC wall outlet;
2. Switch the television on by pressing the button of power;
3. Chose the channel you like by pressing the button of the channel;
4. If you want to turn on the television or change the channel from far
distance, use a remote. It will help you to operate the television easily.

How to send a message on your Mobile Phone

1. Drag the joystick to highlight the option ‘write New Message’.


2. Press the ‘Yes/OK’ button.
3. Write your message.
4. Press the ‘ Yes/OK’ button.
5. Enter the recipient’s phone number or retrieve it from the phone book.
6. Press the ‘Yes/OK’ button.

How to operate a computer
a. Materials Needed:
 CPU

b. Steps:
1. Before plug of powering up the computer system, make sure that the power cable
connected to the back panel of the CPU and is plugged into the electric socket.
2. Make sure the video cable is already connected to the video card correctly into the
back of the panel
3. Make sure both devices are the mouse and key board are mounted on the rear
panel to the right. Because if one is installed then the port cannot enter. (For steps
1 to 3 is basically very easy to do because in addition to the mouse and keyboard
devices, other components can only be plugged into the appropriate port in order
to prevent novice users from installation errors).
4. When everything is plugged in securely, then press the power button on the CPU
is usually located on the front panel of the CPU.
5. The computer will display the Windows logo and displays the desktop image
6. Once the desktop image appears then the computer is ready to operate
7. The proper way to shut down or turn off the computer system is by clicking on the
‘Start’ button and choosing the ‘Turn Off Computer’ option. This will display the

How to Use an ATM (Automatic Telling Machine)

1. Insert your ATM Card into the machine.

3. Enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number), then press Enter. make sure you enter
correct pin.
4. Select a transaction.
5. Deposit money: If you want to deposit (put in) money: Enter the amount you will deposit.
Confirm the amount.
6. Withdraw money: If you want to withdraw (take out) money, select or enter the amount to
withdraw. Amount of your Deposit.
7. Most machines dispense money in fixed amounts. You may be given a choice between
common amounts or you may be asked to enter a number that is a multiple of 50 (100, 250,
500, etc.)
8. Take the cash when the door opens. Put it directly into your wallet.
9. Choose whether you want a receipt, select Yes or No. Take the receipt if you requested it.
10. Wait while the system processes your transaction(s).
11. When the machine beeps at you, take your card, cash, and receipt
(if applicable). Always make sure that you have both your cash and your card.
12. Use the receipt to record the transaction in your check register or passbook.
