BANTA BARENSYAH
Banta Barensyah
Long ago, there lived a boy named Banta Barensyah with his
mother in a village in Aceh. Their life is very poor. Their job
is just winnowing rice husk in a rice mill. Their wages were
only a handful of rice. One day there was no work in rice
mills so that they could not eat. So Barensyah's mother, go
ask for rice to her wealthy brother 'Jacob'. But instead of rice
obtained, but shout. Not far from their village, there is a
kingdom which king was very wise. He has a beautiful
 daughter named 'Putri Terus Mata'. She just wanted to get
married if there is a man who can find her clothes of gold
and suasa.

then sailed back with his taro leaves. In the middle of the
sea, he met with Jacob's ship. Jacob saw a flash in
Berensyah flute; he knew it was the golden clothes. Jacob
robs the golden clothes and throws Barensyah into the sea.

Fortunately, there are a couple who find and caring
Barensyah until cured. After Barensyah recovered, he
excused himself to the old couple. Berensyah went back to

Once upon a time, there was a mountain village. Its readers with the
people were fond of drinking, gambling, and hunting. story of Ngebel
Surrounding this village lived a giant snake named Baru lake
Klinting. One day, the people of the village went hunting
and stumbled upon the giant snake. They ended up killing
 the Baru Klinting and feasting on its meat.
The snakes’ soul was then reincarnated into a beastly
looking boy with an ugly face and sores all over his body.
The boy went around to the village people asking for food
and water. No one would pay him any mind until finally; he
met an old widow who helped him. He told the widow to
prepare a raft and some rice. She did not understand why,
but she prepared anyway. 
The boy went to the field in the center of the village
and called all the people there. He had with him a stem of a
coconut leaf and proceeded to plunge the stem into the rocky
soil. He challenged the village people to pull the stem out.
At first, everyone laughed at the task. However, more and
more people tried and continued to fail to pull the stem from
the ground. He asked the village people to please change
their bad behavior of drinking, gambling, and hunting, but
they would not listen.
The boy then pulled the stem out of the earth with
ease, and water started gushing out of the ground. The water
kept rising and rising, and all of the naughty village people
drowned, except the old widow woman who had helped the
beastly boy and prepared her raft.
This is how Ngebel Lake was created. To this day, not many
people swim in Ngebel Lake because they believe the souls
of all the drowned villagers are still beneath the water.
