ABSTRAK
This research aims to optimize the development of people's Balinese duck farms which
have been developed integrated with agricultural land by utilizing food plant waste and
weeds as feed, which is one of the efforts to diversify and increase the supply of local
poultry meat on the island of Bali, especially in overcoming the reduced supply of poultry
meat from outside as a consequence of the prohibition on the distribution of poultry
between islands as a result of the outbreak of bird flu cases since 2004. Utilization of food
crop waste (including weeds) as feed for ducks on the one hand will reduce production
costs. However, on the other hand, feed ingredients from waste have various weaknesses
related to low quality, especially the available nutrient content due to the high crude fiber
content. So that the application of feed technology is absolutely necessary. The
development of fermentation and supplementation technology absolutely must be carried
out in optimizing the people's duck farming business integrated with agricultural land.
