ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menigkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik berupa tingkat kemampuan
kognitif siswa kelas X.10 melalui penerapan pendekataan TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level)
dengan model PBL (Problem Based Learning) pada mata pelajaran Biologi sub konsep
perubahan da pelestarian lingkungan hidup kelas X di SMAN 1 Pandeglang tahun ajaran 2022-
2023.
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam dua tahapan
siklus. Siklus I terdiri dari satu kali pertemuan dan Siklus II terdiri dari dua kali pertemuan.
Setiap siklus terdiri dari dua tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan dan
refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X.10 SMA Negeri 1 Pandeglang yang
berjumlah 39 orang. Indikator keberhasilan pada penelitian ini apabila 75% siswa dapat
mencapai nilai KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal) mata pelajaran yg ditentukan oleh sekolah
yaitu 70.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan pendekatan TaRL (Teaching at the Right
Level) dengan model PBL (Problem Based Learning) di kelas X.10 terjadi peningkatan
ketuntasan hasil belajar (kognitif) siswa meningkat dari siklus I sebanyak 25 siswa (75,43%)
menjadi 32 siswa (85,14%) yang mencapai nilai KKM pada siklus II.
Kata Kunci: Pendekatan TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level), PBL (Problem Based Learning),
hasil belajar siswa.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the form of the level of cognitive ability
of class X.10 students through the application of the TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level)
approach with the PBL (Problem Based Learning) model in Biology subject, sub-concept of
change and environmental preservation for class X at Pandeglang 1 Public High School for the
2022-2023 school year.
This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is conducted in two stages of the
cycle. Cycle I consisted of one meeting and Cycle II consisted of two meetings. Each cycle
consists of two stages, namely planning, implementation of action, observation and reflection.
The subjects in this study were 39 students of class X.10 at SMA Negeri 1 Pandeglang. The
indicator of success in this study is if 75% of students can achieve the KKM (Minimum
Completeness Criteria) for the subject determined by the school, which is 70.
The results showed that by applying the TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level) approach with the
PBL (Problem Based Learning) model in class X.10 there was an increase in student learning
(cognitive) mastery which increased from cycle I by 25 students (75.43%) to 32 students
(85.14%) who achieved the KKM score in cycle II.
