 KONSEP PENYEBAB

• A cause is an event, condition or characteristics (or a combination of

these factors) that plays an essential role in producing an occurrence of
the disease (Rothman, 1986)
1. A sufficient cause adalah sebuah factor (atau biasanya kombinasi dari
beberapa factor) yang akan tidak dapat dihindarkan mampu
menyebabkan penyakit.
2. A component cause adalah sebuah factor yang berkontribusi terhadap
munculnya suatu penyakit namun tidak mampu menyebabkan
penyakit jika berdiri sendiri
3. A necessary case adalah agent (atau component cause) yang
dibutuhkan untuk perkembangan suatu penyakit (misalnya agent
penyakit menular tertentu)

• I, II, and III adalah 3 sufficient cause yang berbeda untuk suatu penyakit
• A merupakan necessary cause untuk suatu penyakit karena ada di semua chart
• A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I, dan J adalah component cause
