Melalui diskusi peserta didik dapat:

4. Membuat teks berbentuk recount terkait biografi seseorang dengan tepat.

Definition
Recount text is a text which list and retells events or experiences in the past chronologically.

Social Function
Its purpose is either to inform or to entertain the audience

Generic Structure
 Orientation  : It is about introduction the participants, place and time. Who is the Person?
When was this person alive or famous?Where is this person from?
 Events  : What happened to him/her? What did they do? What do they do (if they are still
alive)?
 Education and career
 Things that made him/her special
 Achievements
 Reorientation : It is optional. How did/does this person affect the world?
 Personal input from the writer or society about the person

Language Feature
Biographies can use post the Past and Present tenses, depending on if the person is still alive
or has passed away.

AMERICA’S FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT
President Barack Obama was born on August 4 , 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. From
th

ages six to ten, Obama attended school in Jakarta, Indonesia.  


Then he returned in 1971 to live with his grandparents in Hawaii. After high school,
Obama studied in a university in Los Angeles and New York City.He entered Harvard Law
School and became the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. Once Obama
finished college, he taught law at the University of Chicago Law School.

It is in Chicago where Obama met Michelle. Before they were married in 1992,
Obama and Michelle traveled to Kenya to visit his relatives. Later in the 1990s, Obama was
elected twice as the Senator of Chicago, who makes decisions for the state. He supported
legislation on conservation, energy, immigration and honest leadership. On January 20th,
2009, at the age of 47, Barack Obama became the president of the United States. It was a
historic day because it was the first time an African American has ever become the leader of
the United States.

In 2012, Obama was again re-elected for the second time to be a president. He thanked voters
by promising to spend his second term honoring their support, saying: "There's a lot more
work to do."

G. Langkah-langkah Pembelajaran
Kegiatan Pendahuluan
 Melakukan pembukaan dengan mengucapkan salam dan berdo’a untuk memulai
pembelajaran. (Religius)
 Memeriksa kehadiran peserta didik sebagai sikap disiplin.
 Memberikan motivasi.

Mengingatkan kembali materi Recount yang telah dipelajari pada minggu
sebelumnya.
 Menginformasikan tujuan pembelajaran pada pertemuan tersebut.

Stimulus Activity 1: Game Witness and Detective 15 Menit
Karakter: Rasa ingin tahu, mandiri, jujur, bertanggung jawab
 Peserta didik akan dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok. Setiap anggota
kelompok akan memiliki number head dan pekerjaan sebagai
"Detektif", Guru akan memiliki pekerjaan sebagai "Saksi".
 Guru akan membacakan deskripsi orang.
 Peserta didik, berdasarkan number headnya akan
mendengarkan penjelasan guru. Mereka akan menggunakan
informasi yang diberikan guru untuk berlari ke depan kelas dan
mencoba menemukan foto orang yang cocok dengan deskripsi
yang mereka dengar.
 Ketika mereka telah menemukan foto yang cocok dengan
deskripsi nomor mereka, mereka akan lari ke papan tulis
dengan foto mereka. Guru akan memeriksa apakah deskripsi
mereka cocok dengan foto. Kelompok yang memiliki foto yang
cocok akan mendapatkan 1 poin.
 Kelompok yang mendapat poin tertinggi akan menjadi
pemenangnya.
Activity 2
Karakter: kerjasama, komunikatif, tanggung jawab, peduli,
dan saling menghargai.
5 Menit
 Guru memberikan kertas yang berisi sebuah teks recount
biografi.
 Peserta didik mengamati pengumuman tertulis tersebut.
 Peserta didik bekerja di dalam kelompok (Group work) untuk

 Guru menempelkan gambar terkait profil Facebook seseorang.
 Setiap peserta didik membuat teks recount biografi 20 Menit
berdasarkan profile facebook yang mereka temukan.
 Peserta didik mengumpulkan biografi yang telah dibuatnya
kepada guru.
Kegiatan Penutup
 Menanyakan kesulitan peserta didik selama proses belajar mengajar.
 Peserta didik bersama guru membuat kesimpulan.
 Memberi motovasi atau reward (pujian) kepada peserta didik atas partisipasi aktif
selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung di dalam kelas. 10 Menit
 Menyampaikan rencana pembelajaran pada pertemuan selanjutnya.
 Peserta didik menutup proses pembelajaran di kelas dengan berdo’a.
 Guru menutup pertemuan dengan mengucapkan salam perpisahan.

membuat Biografi tentang BJ Habibi dan mengunggahnya pada akun Facebook nya)

4. Remedial
Bagi peserta didik yang belum mencapai target pembelajaran pada waktu yang telah
dialokasikan, diberikan remedial sesuai dengan analisa baik jenis maupun tingkat kesulitan.
Kegiatan remedial yang dapat diberikan adalah pemberian bimbingan secara individu,
pemberian bimbingan secara kelompok, pemberian pembelajaran ulang dengan metode dan
media yang berbeda, pemberian tugas-tugas latihan secara khusus, dan pemanfaatan tutor
sebaya.
