t is a basic business processing system, which give service to operational
level of an organization. Which seeks to collect all transaction data and stores
them in its database to produce, process, save, display, modify, etc. Employees
use this collected information to view account statements, paychecks, payroll,
and to choose different items.

They are data that can be altered with very little variety, so they must be
managed very well so that there is no type of confusion, as well as that they
can be described with great precision. These elements were the ones that
allowed routines to be created that would take care of repeated jobs.

The systems can also retrieve information if it is what you are looking for, since
the database is the one that supervises all the transaction programs and within
these are the information programs.

The system is extremely useful when selling something over the internet, there
is no lag time, as a clear example of this is when buying an item over the
internet, the only lag time is when the «buy» button is pressed and when it
really sells.

The main purpose of the transaction processing system is, increase the ability
to perform administrative tasks, carried out by the company in order to
control all business activities. Also this should capture the relative data of the
company. Lastly, it must be able to accommodate any existing bugs.

Sistem Pemprosesan Transaksi

Walau bagaimanapun, beberapa urus niaga, termasuk
membuat pesanan, pengebilan pelanggan, pengambilan pekerja, penyimpanan rekod pekerja,
dll adalah perkara biasa kepada semua organisasi. Untuk menyokong pemprosesan transaksi
perniagaan, sistem pemprosesan transaksi (TPS) digunakan dalam organisasi.

An Introduction to Expert Systems An expert system is a knowledge-based information system; that

is, it uses its knowledge ab0out a specific area to act as an expert consultant to users. The
components of an expert system are a knowledge base and software modules that perform
inferences on the knowledge and offer answers to a user’s questions. Expert systems provide
answers to questions in a very specific problem area by making human like inferences about
knowledge contained in a specialized knowledge base. Expert systems can provide decision support
to end users in the form of advice from an expert consultant in a specific problem area. Expert
systems are being used in many different fields, including medicine, engineering, the physical
sciences, and business. For example, expert systems now help diagnose illnesses, search for
minerals, analyze compounds, recommend repairs, and do financial planning. Expert systems can
support either operations or management activities.

Expert Systems Structure the components of an expert system include a knowledge base and
software modules that perform inferences on the knowledge in the knowledge base and
communicate answers to a user’s questions. The knowledge base of an expert system contains Facts
about a specific area, Heuristics (thumbs of rule) that express the reasoning procedures of an expert
on the subject. There are many ways that knowledge is represented in expert systems:-

Case-based reasoning: Representing knowledge in an expert system’s knowledge base in the form of
cases. Frame-based knowledge: Knowledge represented in the form of a hierarchy or network of
frames. A frame is a collection of knowledge about an entity consisting of a complex package of data
values describing its attributes. • Object-based knowledge: Knowledge represented as a network of
objects. An object is a data element that includes both data and the methods or processes that act
on those data. • Rule-based knowledge: Knowledge represented in the form of rules and statements
of fact. Rules are statements that typically take the form of a premise and a conclusion such as: IF
(condition), Then (conclusion). • Software resources: An expert system software package contains an
inference engine and other programs for refining knowledge and communicating with users. The
inference engine program processes the knowledge (such as rules and facts) related to a specific
problem. It then makes associations and inferences resulting in recommended courses of action for a
user. User interface programs for communicating with end-users are also needed, including an
explanation program to explain the reasoning process to a user if requested.
wakil jualan organisasi. Satu lagi jenis laporan sistem maklumat pengurusan ialah;
tahunan. Walau bagaimanapun, jika pengurus ingin melihat data harian atau setiap jam, MIS
membolehkan mereka berbuat demikian.

The human resources system (HRS) is an information technology

system that captures, stores and shares information related to the
practices, policies and management of human resources in an
organization. It is also known as a human resources management
system (HRMS), human resources information system (HRIS), human
capital management system (HCMS) and human resources information
technology (HRIT). An HRS helps an organization manage all the
complex and interconnected aspects of human resources, including
compliance with federal and state employment laws.
manusia (HRIT). HRS membantu organisasi mengurus semua aspek sumber manusia yang kompleks
dan saling berkaitan, termasuk pematuhan undang-undang pekerjaan persekutuan dan negeri.
In the 1980s and 1990s, only medium and large companies could afford expensive
human resources information systems (HRIS). These programs required large
mainframe computers and highly skilled programmers to operate and maintain
them. Today, almost any company can not only afford, but needs, a human
resources information system. Even a company with fewer than 10 employees can
purchase a basic HRIS program that can be installed on a desktop computer to
automate basic human resources processes.

What is HRIS?

Essentially, an HRIS is a database or a combination of databases that share

information. For example, the employee-hiring database captures all information
related to job applications. When a business hires a new employee, the person’s
basic demographic information is shared with other HRIS modules so that HR staff
members do not have to re-enter the data.

Automating and Streamlining Processes

An HRIS has three basic components -- employee information, payroll and

benefits. These represent the core business functions of an organization's human
resources department. The HRIS helps automate and streamline these processes,
which frees up HR staff to do project work and address problems. For example,
employees use an identification number or "swipe" an employee identification card
to check in each morning on an electronic time clock that automatically transfers
data to the HRIS. This eliminates the need for payroll staff to manually enter
employee work hours from paper time cards into the payroll system.

The job application process is another good example of how an HRIS can reduce
costs. In many companies, candidates apply for jobs via the Internet. This means
HR staff no longer have to physically handle, sort and forward applications to
appropriate departments.

Legal Compliance Support

These systems generate reports and documentation required by state and federal
agencies, such as the W-2 Wage and Tax Statement, the Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission EEO-1 Employer Detail and Summary Report, and the
Department of Labor’s Illness and Injury Report (OSHA 301 Report).

An HRIS can help businesses with negotiated labor agreements by incorporating

the requirements of the agreement into daily operations, such as tracking seniority
for the purpose of promotions, layoffs and pay raises. Information technology also
helps the HR Department monitor employee grievance and performance issues.

Reporting and Decision Support

Because basic HR processes are automated and all necessary information is

stored in connected databases, an HRIS simplifies reporting and management
decision-support activities. Most systems include a variety of standard HR reports
that can be used to manage the business and plan for the future, such as,
compensation by pay period and year-to-date, benefits enrollment, and employee
time and attendance. Many HR systems will allow users to develop ad hoc reports
in order to analyze specific issues or identify trends to help management in
strategic planning.

HRIS Links

Depending on the sophistication of the system, an HRIS program will allow for data
sharing and integration with other essential business systems, such as finance and
supply-chain management. In addition, some systems can provide network links to
their health insurance carriers and retirement fund administrators. This allows
employer and insurance carrier or fund administrators to share employee
information quickly and easily.

HRIS also links a company’s human resources department with its managers and
employees. Using an Intranet – a secure private computer network owned and
operated by a company – employees can enter their hours worked, enroll in benefit
programs or continuing-education courses and receive communications from the
HR department
Discuss on the benefits of the systems to the staff, customer and company….

Ways Human Resources Can Benefit from Information Systems

Content Coordinator

Before databases and computers, many workers were able to lie their way into a job. It was
much simpler to embellish a resume, make up a college degree, or use a fraudulent reference.

Without an HRIS human management system in place to confirm records, overworked and
underpaid organizations often took the word of their new prospects. Unfortunately, this often
led to less suited individuals placed in jobs they could not perform.

Furthermore, tracking employee time and ensuring compliance was a tedious, manual process

that required calculating overtime hours and converting hours to minutes. It was easy to make
mistakes, and many organizations paid the price for it.

Thankfully, modern software allows companies to streamline and automate nearly all of the
HR duties and verify the accuracy of employee and new hire information. Here is an
overview of HRIS software and the unique advantages it provides to businesses.

The Benefits of Human Resource Information Systems

A human resource information system is software that gathers and handles data related to
employees, such as social security or salary information. A human capital management
system also integrates with time tracking systems to accurately manage employee time and
attendance so HR clerks can perform payroll.
Human resources management systems can be cloud-based or it may run on an
organization's own IT infrastructure.
Most organizations use a cloud-based solution with high storage capacity because users can
easily make quick updates when needed. An HRIS generates reports that help management
answer important questions and assess employee performance.

An HR information system streamlines repetitive HR tasks, allowing HR staffers to focus on

more important aspects of their jobs. It also ensures accuracy and reliability, which is
essential for compliance and payroll purposes. There are many other benefits of an HRIS
system, including

Reporting
A management employee system collects and maintains all data related to new hire
paperwork, hiring policies, job applicants, openings, and important tax forms. It can use this
information to generate reports and presentations that assess various problems or successes in
hiring practices, attendance, and performance reviews.
Because the data is stored in one centralized capital management HCM system, owners can
run numerous types of reports that summarize and analyze any part of this data.
For example, if the owner is looking to hire new sales team members, he may use a report to
assess the strengths of past sales team prospects. He could then determine which of the past
candidates displayed the qualities he is now looking for and then interviews them.
In short, reports allow users to view and analyze valuable data in an understandable way so
they can make better HR-related decisions that contribute to the success of the company.

2. Recruiting
A human resource management system offers an interactive interface that allows both HR
members and potential applicants to upload and view recruiting information. Candidates can
upload resumes and input personal data, which notifies the HR department.

When it is time for the HR team to begin hiring, they can easily access all of the candidate
data. This helps to streamline the entire hiring process and ensure every piece of relevant data
is available.

When looking for potential new hires, managers can conduct meticulous searches of
aggregated resumes and seek out the best candidate depending on qualifiers (education level,
experience, etc.)

This systemizes and optimizes the entire recruiting and workforce management process from
start to finish, freeing up time for HR staffers and ensuring the best candidates are
interviewed and hired.

3. Managing Benefits
Changes in employee benefits and evolving regulations can make managing all benefit-
related data difficult. An HRIS helps HR staffers streamline the administering of benefits to
ensure compliance.

A resources information system typically allows workers to self-enroll in benefit plans, which
saves the HR team both time and resources. Employees can also log into the HRIS system to
monitor their coverage, change plans, view resources information, or adjust contact
information as needed. Utilizing a self-service solution puts much of the responsibility on the
employee, rather than HR.

While this minimizes tedious work and saves money, it also protects the organization in case
an employee claims a mistake was made on a benefit enrollment plan. An HRIS system
requires workers to initial and sign each document, ensuring that everyone is responsible for
their inputs.
Advantage of transaction processing systems

It is able to control, manage and observe multiple transactions to determine which one is of

higher priority than the other. You can control business decision-making to maintain the
safety and stability of those involved in the operation, as it can benefit others.

They make the operational tasks of a determined organization. They can also save quite a
significant amount of money, in labour because they automatically do the work for others. It
makes online credit card payment transactions much easier.

They have the importance of being information collectors, because for this they are in charge
of the large information bases they have to be exploited later. They are very easy to justify
since its benefits are very remarkable for most, they are very visible and true. This system
is applied by several powerful companies around the world.

Advantages of Using Expert System:

An expert system has been reliably used in the business world to gain tactical
advantages and forecast the market’s condition. In this globalization era where
every decision made in the business world is critical for success; the assistance
provided from an expert system is undoubtedly essential and highly reliable for
an organization to succeed

1] Providing consistent solutions:

It can provide consistent answers for repetitive decisions, processes, and tasks.
As long as the rule base in the system remains the same, regardless of how
many times similar problems are being tested, the conclusions drawn will
remain the same.

2] Provides reasonable explanations:

It can clarify the reasons why the conclusion was drawn and be why it considers
as the most logical choice among other alternatives. If there are any doubts in
concluding a certain problem; it will prompt some questions for users to answer
to process the logical conclusion.

3] Overcome human limitations:

It does not have human limitations and can work around the clock continuously.
Users will be able to frequently use it in seeking solutions. The knowledge of
experts is an invaluable asset for the company. It can store the knowledge and
use it as long as the organization needs it.
4] Easy to adapt to new conditions:
Unlike humans who often have trouble adapting to new environments, an
expert system has high adaptability and can meet new requirements in a short
period. It also can capture new knowledge from an expert and use it as
inference rules to solve new problems.

What Are the Benefits of an MIS?

Not having an effective, functional MIS leaves managers guessing in the dark.
Employees are busy going through their workdays without direction or purpose. A
management information system provides the data to identify non-performing areas
and leads to the following benefits:

Helps to achieve a higher level of efficiency: Managers have the information

needed to identify a company's strengths and weaknesses.

Improves the quality of decisions: Better availability of information reduces

uncertainty and lets managers make more rational decisions based on reliable
data.

Promotes better communications between departments in a workplace: When

managers, department heads and employees are sharing the same information,
there is better communication between them to identify problem areas and find
mutually agreeable solutions.

Provides a platform to explore different scenarios for various alternatives

and economic environments: Management is able to explore various alternatives
to see the possible results before making decisions and commitments.

Improves employee productivity: Employees are more productive because they

don't have to spend time gathering the data that management wants. A well-
designed MIS will gather all the data without any more input from employees.

Strengthens a company's competitive advantage: Running a more efficient

business by reducing and eliminating weaknesses and non-performing areas
increases a company's competitive advantage over its rivals.

Reveals more data about customers: With more data about the needs of
customers, management is better able to improve customer service and design
more effective marketing and promotional campaigns.

A management information system is essential for any small business owner who
is serious about improving the performance of his company. Without a good MIS,
managers are managing by trial-and-error rather than making intelligent decisions
based on a thoughtful analysis of data.
