Pendahuluan
Air merupakan sumber daya alam yang dibutuhkan untuk hajat hidup masyarakat, bahkan oleh
semua makhluk hidup. Masalah utama yang dihadapi mengenai sumber daya alam ini meliputi kualitas dan
kuantitas yang tidak mampu memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat
Aktifitas manusia (antropogenik) merupakan penyebab utama kontaminasi logam berat Cadmium
(Cd), pada lingkungan perairan dan menyebabkan gangguan pada sistem biologis karena dapat
terakumulasi dengan mudah dalam sedimen maupun organisme [Akbar,A.W, dkk, 2014].
Pencemaran perairan ditandai dengan adanya perubahan sifat fisik, kimia dan biologi perairan. Bahan
pencemar berupa logam berat di peraian akan membahayakan kehidupan organisme, maupun efeknya
secara tidak langsung terhadap kesehatan manusia. Salah satu jenis logam berat yang memasuki perairan
dan bersifat toksik adalah Cadmium (Cd).
. Pencemaran air yang di indikasikan dengan turunnya kualitas air sampai ke tingkat tertentu yang
menyebabkan air tidak dapat berfungsi sesuai dengan peruntukannya. Dengan ditetapkan baku mutu air
pada sumber air dan memperhatikan kondisi airnya, akan dapat dihitung berapa beban zat pencemar yang
dapat ditenggang oleh air penerima sehingga air dapat tetap berfungsi sesuai dengan peruntukannya (PP
Nomor 82 Tahun 2001).

Tinjauan Pustaka
Kadmium adalah logam berwarna putih perak, lunak, mengkilap, tidak larut dalam basa, mudah
bereaksi, serta menghasilkan Kadmium Oksida bila dipanaskan. Kadmium (Cd) umumnya terdapat
dalam kombinasi dengan klor (Cd Klorida) atau belerang (Cd Sulfit). Kadmium membentuk Cd2+ yang
bersifat tidak stabil. Cd memiliki nomor atom 40, berat atom 112,4, titik leleh 321°C, titik didih 767°C
dan memiliki masa jenis 8,65 g/cm3 (Widowati dkk., 2008).

Logam kadmium (Cd) memiliki karakteristik berwarna putih keperakan seperti logam aluminium,
tahan panas, tahan terhadap korosi. Unsur ini bersifat lentur, tahan terhadap tekanan, memiliki titik lebur
rendah serta dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pencampur logam lain seperti nikel, perak, tembaga, dan besi.
Cadmium mempunyai titik didih rendah dan mudah terkonsentrasi ketika memasuki atmosfir.

Pembahasan

Parameter Fisika dan Kimia Perairan yang diamati

meliputi suhu, kedalaman, pH air, pH tanah, DO,
Salinitas dan kecerahan, dilakukan secara in situ. Hasil
yang diperoleh menunjukkan hasil yang berbeda pada
setiap stasiunnya. Hasil pengukuran dapat dilihat pada
Tabel 1.
Faktor fisika dan kimia diperairan penting untuk
dipantau. Faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi
keberadaan makrozoobenthos adalah faktor fisika kimia
lingkungan perairan, diantaranya penetrasi cahaya yang
berpengaruh terhadap suhu air, kandungan unsur kimia
seperti substrat dasar atau nutrien, kandungan ion
hidrogen (pH), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical
Oxygen Demand (BOD) dan Chemical Oxygen Demand
(COD), kandungan nitrogen (N), kedalaman air, serta arus
(Nugroho, 2006).
Kandungan Cd pada sedimen dan air pada setiap stasiun memiliki nilai
dibawah angka yang dapat terbaca oleh alat AAS merk Simadzu AA 7000,
karena AAS yang digunakan di Laboratorium Kimia BARISTAND hanya
dapat membaca kandungan (Limit of Detection: LOD) Cd > 0,006 ppm..
Kandungan rata-rata tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun 1 dan terendah terdapat
pada stasiun 2 dan 3. Hasil pengukuran kandungan Cd pada air dapat dilihat
pada Tabel 2

Kesimpulan

Kadium

yang dapat terbaca oleh alat AAS merk Simadzu AA 7000, karena AAS
yang digunakan di Laboratorium Kimia BARISTAND hanya dapat
membaca kandungan (Limit of Detection: LOD) Cd > 0,006 ppm..
Kandungan rata-rata tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun 1 dan terendah terdapat
pada stasiun 2 dan 3. Karea Kandungan Cd pada air dan sedimen < 0,006
ppm maka tidak dapat terbaca oleh alat.
