Pharmacy sebagai professional
Pharmacist is profession responsible for the
appropriate use of medicine, device and services in
order to achieve the optimal therapeutic outcomes

Pharmacy Practice :

• in the direction & administration of pharmaceutical services


• in drug regulation & control
• in the formulation and quality control of pharmaceutical products
• in the inspection and assessment of drug manufacturing facilities
• in the assurance of product quality throughout the distribution chai
• in drug procurement agencies
• in national & institutional formulatory committees 12
What are the journals said?
• Pharmacists are believed as medication consultants
and sources of information for healthcare
professionals (Gade, 2003)
• Pharmacists are the most accessible and trusted
health care profession (Pharm Med, 2002; Europe
Readers’ Digest, 2008)
• Good communication creates better management of
drug use and increase patient satisfaction (Schomer,
2000)
• More contacts, more roles for pharmacists (Jones,
2000; Narhi, 2001; Worley, 2007)

• Pharmacists tend to less communicate for repeated
prescription or specific drug request (Svarstad et al,
2004; Puumalainen, 2005)
• High Professionalism in western, Low in eastern
(Smith, 2001)

TUJUAN KOMUNIKASI

1. MENYAMPAIKAN IDE / INFORMASI / BERITA


2. MEMPENGARUHI ORANG LAIN : komunikasi yang kita lakukan kepada orang lain secara kita
sadari maupun tidak kita sadari akan mempengaruhi perilaku orang lain
3. MENGUBAH PERILAKU ORANG LAIN : komunikasi bertujuan untuk merubah perilaku,
maksudnya jika kita bicara dengan seseorang yang berperilaku berbeda dengan norma yang
ada dan kita inginkan
4. MEMBERIKAN PENDIDIKAN : bertujuan agar lawan bicara (komunikan) memperoleh /
mencapai tingkat pemahaman yang lebih tinggi dan menunjukkan hal yang lebih baik dari
sebelumnya
5. MEMAHAMI (IDE) ORANG LAIN : komunikasi dua orang atau lebih akan efektif jika diantara
komunikator dan komunikan saling memahami ide masing2 dan mereka saling berusaha
memberi makna pada komunikasi yang disampaikan atau diterima
