Alkena atau olefin dalam kimia organik adalah hidrokarbon tak jenuh dengan sebuah ikatan
rangkap dua antara atom karbon. Yang mempunyai jumlah atom H lebih sedikit dari parafin.
Olefin disebut juga alkena, dengan rumus umum : CnH2n

CH2=CH2 -> etilena (etena)

CH3-CH=CH3 -> propilena (propena)

CH3-CH2-CH=CH3 -> butilena (butena)

c. diolefin

Dalam kimia organik suatu diena atau diolefin adalah suatu hidrokarbon yang mengandung
dua karbon yang memiliki ikatan rangkap dua. Diena terkadang terdapat di alam. Diena
terkonjugasi digunakan secara luas sebagai monomer dalam industri polimer.

d. cyclic hydrocarbon

A cyclic hydrocarbon is a hydrocarbon in which the carbon chain joins to itself in a ring. A
cycloalkane is a cyclic hydrocarbon in which all of the carbon-carbon bonds are single bonds.
Like other alkanes, cycloalkanes are saturated compounds. Cycloalkanes have the general
formula CnH2n. The simplest cycloalkane is cyclopropane, a three-carbon ring.

Unsaturated hydrocarbons are hydrocarbons that have double or triple covalent bonds
between adjacent carbon atoms.

1-11. a. Rumus umum paraffin series; parafin adalah nama umum untuk hidrokarbon alkana
dengan formula CnH2n+2.

b. Rumus umum olefin series; Olefin adalah kelompok senyawa hidrokarbon tidak jenuh,
sinonim dari alkena, CnH2n. Contohnya etilena (C2H4), propena (C3H6), dan butena (C4H8).

c. Rumus umum diolefin series; memiliki rumus umum CnH2n-2 dan merupakan senyawa tidak

d. Rumus umum acetylene series; senyawa kimia dengan rumus C 2H2. Asetilen adalah hidrokarbon
dan alkuna paling sederhana.

e. Rumus umum naphthene series; CnH2n+2-2RN, dimana RN adalah cincin naften dalam molekul.
