1. Deskripsi Mata Kuliah (Course Description)


Kualitas merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam keunggulan bersaing (competitive
advantage). Kualitas dapat berarti kesesuaian dengan spesifikasi (conform to specification) dan
kepatuhan pada peraturan (comply with regulation). Ruang lingkup kualitas meliputi perencanaan
(planning), pengendalian (control monitoring) dan penjaminan (assurance) kualitas. Dalam
pengendalian kualitas, karakteristik kualitas dari produk luaran sistem manufaktur diinspeksi, diukur,
kemudian dibandingkan dengan standar yang sudah ditentukan sebelumnya. Aktivitas kontrol ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui status produk apakah memenuhi persyaratan (requirement) yg telah
ditetapkan baik oleh konsumen maupun produsen. Selain itu dapat diketahui pula besarnya
kemampuan proses dalam menghasilkan produk (indeks kapabilitas proses). Melalui mata kuliah ini
diharapkan mahasiswa memahami dan menerapkan teknik-teknik pengendalian kualitas, dan
selanjutnya digunakan untuk merancang sistem penjaminan kualitas untuk produk maupun proses.
Quality is one of the importance competitive advantage. Quality could means conform to
specification and comply to regulation. The quality cover planning, control monitoring, and assurance.
In Quality control (QC), the quality characteristics of the manufacturing output products are inspected,
measured, and compared to predetermined standard. This QC ensures that the products fulfill the
requirements both from customer and manufacturer. The states of product in terms of conform to
standard, as well as the process capability indices can be measured. This course provides knowledge
and expect the student to understand and able to implement many techniques to control the quality,
which is very important to design the quality assurance (QA) system both for product or proses.
