Sistemcommonrailmenggunakanjenisruangakumulasidisebutreluntukmenyimpanbahan
bakarpressur-terwujud,daninjectoryangmengandungkatupsolenoiddikontrolsecara
elektronikuntukmenyemprotbahanbakarsurizedPres-kedalamsilinder.KarenaECUmesin
mengontrolsisteminjeksi(termasuktekananinjeksi,lajuinjeksi,daninjeksitiming),sistemini
tidakterpengaruholehkecepatanmesinataubeban.Halinimemastikantekananinjeksiyang
stabilsetiapsaat,khususnyadirentangkecepatanmesinrendah,dansecaradramatismengurangi
jumlahasaphitamordi-narilydipancarkanolehmesindieselselamastart-updanpercepatan.
Akibatnya,emisigasbuanglebihbersihdanmengurangi,danoutputdayayanglebihtinggi

Dalamsistemini,ECUmesinmengontrolsisteminjeksibahanbakarsesuaidengansinyal-
sinyalyangditerimadariberbagaisensor.Komponen-komponensisteminidapatdibagimenjadi
tigajenisberikut:(1)Sensor;(2)ECU;dan(3)Aktuator.(1)sensor
a.Mendeteksimesindanmengemudikondisi,danmengubahnyamenjadisinyallistrik.

a.Melakukanperhitunganberdasarkansinyal-sinyallistrikyangditerimadarisensor,dan
mengirimkannyakeaktuatoruntukmencapaikondisiyangoptimal.

Ketikaadaarusdipasokkesolenoid,gayapegaslebihkuatdaritekananhidrolikdiruang
kontrol.Dengandemikian,katupsolenoiddidorongkebawah,secaraefektifmenutuplubang
stopkontak.Untukalasanini,tekananhidrolikyangditerapkanpadapistonperintah
menyebabkanmusimseminozzleuntukkompres.Inimenutupjarumnozzle,dansebagai
hasilnya,bahanbakartidakdisuntikkan.[Injeksi]
Ketika saat ini pada awalnya diterapkan untuk solenoid, tarik kekuatan solenoid menarik
solenoid valve up, secara efektif membuka lubang stopkontak dan memungkinkan bahan bakar
mengalir dari ruang kontrol. Setelah bahan bakar mengalir keluar, tekanan di dalam ruang
kontrol berkurang, menarik perintah piston up. Hal ini menyebabkan jarum nozzle meningkat
daninjeksiuntukmemulai.
Bahan bakar yang mengalir melewati orifice stopkontak mengalir ke pipa bocor dandibawah
piston perintah. Bahan bakar yang mengalir di bawah piston mengangkat jarum piston ke atas,
yangmembantumeningkatkanpembukaandanpenutupanresponnozzleini.
Ketika saat ini terus diterapkan solenoid, nozzle mencapai angkat maksimum, dimanatingkat
injeksi juga di tingkat maksimum. Ketika saat ini untuk solenoid dalam keadaan OFF, solenoid
valvejatuh,menyebabkanjarumnozzleuntukmenutupsegeradaninjeksiuntukberhenti.
