Kalibiru is a natural tourism village in the Manoreh hills. It is a village known
mostly for its ecotourism. It was firstly opened in 2008 and managed by local citizen to
be a tourism destination. It is located in the Hagrowilis village, Kokap subdistrict,
Kulon Progo Regency of Yogyakarta. The distance of Kalibiru village is approximately
40 kilometers from the center of Yogyakarta.
Kalibiru has a very beautiful natural landscape with a very wide expanse of hills.
It presents wonderful scenery and the atmosphere is very cool. People in Kalibiru
village are also friendly and polite. This is also the main attraction of Kalibiru village
that makes many people come to this place.
The perfect time to visit to Kalibiru is during the afternoon, when the sun puts
more melancholy to the surrounding atmosphere. There is a pine tree growing just at the
edge of a cliff around the area. This is the exact spot from to enjoy the wonderful view
of the mountains of Menoreh. You do not need to feel afraid to climb the provided hung
stairs and sit on the wooden board. From that spot, you can see the sun heads to its
home beautifully. You can feel that time passes so slowly. You can forget all thoughts
about your piles of works and just enjoy the wonderful scenery in front of you.
