The Role Of Government (Peran Pemerintah)

Pemerintah merupakan penyelenggaraan negara dalam rangka mencapai tujuan

bersama yaitu untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dalam semua bidang,
khususnya dalam bidang ekonomi. Perkembangan dan kemajuan pembangunan suatu negara
tergantung kepada peranan pemerintah dalam mengatur negaranya termasuk didalamnya
adalah perekonomian. Dalam perekonomian suatu negara, pemerintah mempunyai peranan
untuk mengatur, memperbaiki, dan mengarahkan aktivitas ekonomi pemerintah maupun
sektor swasta.

Dalam upaya untuk mensejahterakan masyarakat diperlukan berbagai barang dan jasa
yang dapat memenuhi berbagai kebutuhan, selain itu diperlukan adanya lapangan kerja yang
memadai bagi masyarakat sebagai sumber mata pencaharian untuk mendapatkan penghasilan
guna membeli barang dan jasa yang dibutuhkan. Untuk mencapai kedua hal tersebut,
diperlukan peningkatan aktivitas ekonomi masyarakat yaitu dengan investasi yang baik oleh
negara yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah, maupun oleh swasta yang dilakukan oleh
masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, maka peran penting pemerintah dibidang ekonomi adalah
bagaimana mendorong penyediaan barang dan jasa yang dibutuhkan dan diinginkan
masyarakat, serta pembukaan lapangan pekerjaan yang memadai bagi masyarakat.

Dalam masa sekarang ini, ada banyak perkembangan karena adanya kemajuan
teknologi dan banyaknya penemu-penemu baru serta semakin terbukanya perekonomian
antar negara yang menyebabkan begitu banyaknya kepentingan yang saling terkait. Hal ini
menyebabkan peran pemerintah semakin dibutuhkan dalam mengatur jalannya sistem
perekonomian. Dengan demikian, dalam sistem perekonomian modern peranan pemerintah
antara lain yaitu, peranan alokasi, peranan distribusi, dan peranan stabilisasi. Peranan alokasi
oleh pemerintah sangat dibutuhkan terutama dalam hal penyediaan barang-barang yang tidak
dapat disediakan oleh swasta yaitu barang-barang umum atau barang publik. Dalam peranan
distribusi, pemerintah adalah sebagai distribusi pendapatan dan kekayaan. Tidak mudah bagi
pemerintah dalam menjalankan peranan tersebut, karena distribusi merupakan hal yang
berkaitan erat dengan masalah keadilan. Oleh karena itu, peranan distribusi oleh pemerintah
adalah untuk menyelenggarakan peradilan. Dalam peranan stabilisasi, peran pemerintah
dibutuhkan jika terjadi gangguan seperti, deflasi, inflasi, dan penurunan permintaan atau
penawaran suatu barang dan jasa karena hal tersebut dapat menimbulkan masalah lainnya
yaitu, pengangguran, stagflasi, dan lain-lain. Dengan demikian, bukan hanya peranan dalam
bidang ekonomi saja, tetapi juga dalam bidang-bidang lainnya, pemerintah hendaknya
mampu menjalankan peranannya dengan baik agar dapat tercapainya tujuan bersama yaitu
meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat.

The government is the administration of the state in order to achieve a common goal,
namely to improve the welfare of the community in all fields, especially in the economic
field. The development and progress of a country's development depends on the role of the
government in regulating its country including the economy. In the economy of a country, the
government has a role to regulate, improve, and direct the economic activities of the
government and the private sector.

In an effort to prosper the community, various goods and services are needed that can
fulfill various needs, besides that there is a need for adequate employment for the community
as a source of livelihood to obtain income to buy goods and services needed. To achieve
these two things, it is necessary to increase the economic activity of the community, namely
by good investment by the state, and by the private sector carried out by the community.
Therefore, the important role of the government in the field of economics is how to
encourage the supply of goods and services needed and desired by the community, as well as
the opening of adequate employment opportunities for the community.

In the present, there have been many developments due to technological advancements
and the large number of new inventors and increasingly open economies between countries
which have caused so many interrelated interests. This causes the role of the government
increasingly needed to regulate the running of the economic system. Thus, in the modern
economic system the role of government includes, the role of allocation, the role of
distribution, and the role of stabilization. The role of the allocation by the government is
needed especially in terms of the supply of goods that cannot be provided by the private
sector, namely public goods or public goods. In the distribution role, the government is a
distribution of income and wealth. It is not easy for the government to carry out this role,
because distribution is a matter that is closely related to the issue of justice. Therefore, the
role of distribution by the government is to conduct justice. In the role of stabilization, the
role of government is needed if there are disruptions such as deflation, inflation, and
decreasing demand or supply of goods and services because it can cause other problems,
namely, unemployment, stagflation, and others. Thus, it is not only a role in the economic
sector, but also in other fields, the government should be able to play its role well in order to
achieve the common goal of improving the welfare of the community.
