C. Tujuan Pembelajaran

Melalui pembelajaran biografi teks, peserta didik terampil dalam menentukan dan
membedakan fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan dari teks biografi
pendek dan sederhana tentang tokoh terkenal, sesuai dengan konteks.

a. Preliminary activities (15 minutes)

 Teacher greeting to students
Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Good morning everybody .
How are you today?
 Ask students to ready the study
Well, are you ready to study now?
 Teacher instructs students to pray before starting the lesson.
If you are ready, I think its better for us to pray first
 Teacher asks one of student to lead the prayer
Chairman, can you lead your friends to pray together?
  Teacher take the students attendence
Ok students, I will check your attendence today.
There are twelve students here, I think its complete.
b. Core activities (65 minutes)
Stimulation
 Students are shown a picture of famous person and are asked several
questions related to the picture

- Do you know a man in this picture ?

- Who is he ?
- What do you know about him ?
 Teacher explain to students about the material today
Alright students, today we learn about the biogrphy of B.J.
Habibie
 Students are shown the biography of the famous person on the picture

 Problem Statements

 One of student read one paragraph about the biography text then find
out the difficult words from the text.
Students, please read the first paragraph
 Teacher tell the structure of text from the paragraph that has been
read.
This paragraph call with orientation paragraph. In orientation
paragraph tells the background information of the person. It
consists of a person's identity such as full name, address and date
of birth.
Data collection
 Students do the discussion to determine the meaning of the difficult
words.
Students, what is the difficult word that you find from the paragraph
 Teacher provids the meaning of the difficult words
 Determine the structure of the text, language elements of the text,
the language feature of the biography text based on the text that
has been given by the teacher.
 Choose one of the simple pst tense from the text
Students, find out one of the simple past tense from the texr

 Explain to students about tme meaning of the difficult words.
 Explain to students about the structure of the simple past tense
 Students write sentence with simple past tense form

 Students present in front of class about the simple past tense that they

1. Remedial
Peserta didik yang belum mencapai KKM(79) diberi tugas untuk
membaca dan mencari sebuah teks biografi dan menentukan struktur
teks, unsur kebahasaan dari teks biografi tersebut serta informasi yang
didapat siswa dari teks tersebut selama satu minggu. Setelah satu
minggu guru mengevaluasi kemajuan kompetensi siswa dalam
memahami teks biografi. Kemudian guru melaksanakan penilaian
remedial.
2. Pengayaan
Bagi peserta didik mempunyai nilai di atas 79 diberi pengayaan berupa
tugas mandiri untuk membaca sebuah teks biografi tokoh terkenal yang
dikagumi, siswa diminta mengamati kemudian menyampaikan informasi
yang berkaitan dengan tokoh tersebut.

Biography text

 Biography text is a kind of text which describes a person's life and written by
someone else in detail.
 Fungsi Sosial
Meneladani, membanggakan, bertindak teratur, teliti dan disiplin, melaporkan
 Struktur Teks
 - Menyebutkan tindakan/ peristiwa/kejadian secara umum
- Menyebutkan urutan tindakan/ kejadian/peristiwa secara kronologis, dan runtut
- Jika perlu, ada kesimpulan umum.

 Unsur Kebahasaan

- Kata-kata terkait dengan perjuangan hidup, profesionalisme dalam bekerja,

kejadian/peristiwa yang sedang banyak dibicarakan.

 Generic Structure of biography text:
- Orientation
It is the opening paragraph. It tells the background information of the person. It
consists of a person's identity such as full name, address and date of birth.
- Event
It is written in chronological order. This paragraph tells about the event happened to
the person.

- Re-orientation
 It consists of conclusion or a comment or the writer. It also tells about the
achievement or the contribution of the person.
