1. Selain pemeriksaan dengan KOH 10% pemeriksaan kultur jamur dan pewarnaan dengan
giemsa dapat dilakukan untuk menemukan adanya jamur pada kerokan kornea. Pemeriksaan
histopatologi dapat dipertimbangkan apabila hasil pemeriksaan dengan KOH 10%, kultur dan
pewarnaan menunjukan hasil negatif serta tidak adanya respon terhadap terapi yang
diberikan.
2. Bahan asam yang dapat merusak mata terutama bahan anorganik, organik dan organik
anhidrat. Biasanya kerusakan hanya bersifat superfisial saja. Pada bahan alkali antara lain
