What is Report Text?
A report text is a type of text that announce the result of an investigation or announce
something. The information given in a report text is very general information.

PURPOSE
Social function of report text is to present information about something generally to the
reader. They generally describe an entire class of things, whether natural or made: mammals,
plants, and natural phenomenon. (Tujuan report text adalah untuk menyampaikan informasi
hasil pengamatan
dan analisa yang sistematis. Informasi yang dijelaskan dalam report text
biasanya bersifat umum, baik itu alamiah ataupun buatan seperti hand phone binatang
mamalia, tumbuh-tumbuhan, dan peristiwa alam)

GENERAL STRUCTURE OF REPORT TEXT:
General Classification: General statements that describe the subject of the report, description,
and classification.
Description: tells what the phenomenon under discussion ; in terms of parts, qualities, habits
or behaviors.

LANGUAGE FEATURE OF REPORT TEXT :
Nouns and noun phrases are used rather than personal pronouns. The use of personal
pronouns is limited.
Most reports are written in the present tense.
Some reports use technical or scientific terms.
Linking verbs are used, eg. is, are, has, have, belong to, to give coherence.
Uses some action verbs (climb, eat).
Descriptive language is used that is factual rather than imaginative eg. color, shape, size,
body parts, habits, behaviors, functions, uses.

JATILUWIH
Jatiluwih is a favorite tourist destination in Bali famous with the beautiful rice terrace
unfolding from the foot of mountain until the coastal side. It is one of places to visit in Bali
with the beautiful view as according to its name from Jati and luwih, where Jati mean really
and Luwih meaning especial, good, and beautiful or the equivalent. The local paddies are
planted in this place look typically of the high relative size plant if it is compared with other
pre-eminent paddy planted by most farmers in Bali . Despitefully, Jatiluwih also famous with
its organic agriculture system due to the location is located in the in the plateau of Watukaru
Mount which is suitable for the agriculture development.
Jatiluwih is one of the places of interest in the area of Penebel, Tabanan. Jatiluwih
famous for its natural beauty with terraced rice fields which neatly. in this place also in the
beautiful mountain scenery named Batukaru mountain, because the location of this Jatiluwih
right at the foot of the Batukaru mountain. This area is a suitable place to visit for the one
who missed the Mountain fresh air and the natural panorama as a place to soothe the mind,
because of the beautiful place that is still natural with fresh air.
Jatiluwih also keep the unique religious ceremony attraction which is famous know as
Patirtaan in Petali Temple on Wednesday Kliwon Ugu (Based on Balinese Calendar). The
local residents believe that Petali Temple is a worship center of The Hyang Widhi Wasa (the
God) as agriculture power. Beside of Petali Temple , there is also Pucak Rsi Temple is
located in this area. As a tourist object, Jatiluwih provides the public facilities like parking
area, toilet, resting bale and Wantilan for tourist who is enjoying the beautiful panorama.
Some restaurants have been built to serve the food and beverage.

Gardenia Plants
Gardenia plants are popular for the strong sweet scent of their flowers. Gardenia is the
national flower in Pakistan. In Japan and China, the flower is called Kuchinashi (Japanese)
and Zhi zi (Chinese).
Gardenia plants are evergreen shrubs. Their small trees can grow to 1 - 5 meters tall.
The leaves are 5 - 50 centimeters long and 3 - 25 centimeters broad, dark green and glossy
with a leathery texture. The flowers are in small groups, white, or pale yellow, with 5-12
lobes (petals) from 5-12 centimeters diameter. They usually bloom in mid- spring to mid-
summer. Many species have strong aroma.
To cultivate gardenia as a house plant is not easy. This species can be difficult to
grow because it originated in warm humid tropical areas. It demands high humidity and
bright (not direct) light to thrive. It flourishes in acidic soil with good drainage and thrives on
20° – 23° C during the day and 15° – 16° C in the evening. Potting soils developed
specifically for gardenias are available. It grows no larger than 18 inches in height and width
when grown indoor. In climates where it can be grown outdoors, it can reach the height of 6
feet. If water hits the flowers, they will turn brown.
Jellyfish
Jellyfish are not really fish. They are invertebrate animals. This means that unlike fish
or people, they have no backbones. In fact, they have no bones at all.
Jellyfish have stomachs and mouths, but no heads. They have nervous systems for
sensing the
world around them, but no brains. They are made almost entirely of water, which is
why you can lookm through them. Some jellyfish can glow in darkness by making their own
light. The light is made by a chemical reaction inside the jellyfish. Scientists believe jellyfish
glow for several reasons. For example, they may glow to scare away predators or to attract
animals they like to eat.
Most jellyfish live in salt water, apart from a few types that live in fresh water.
Jellyfish are found in oceans and seas all over the world. They live in warm, tropical seas and
in icy waters near the North and South poles.
Giraffe
Giraffe is the highest animal in the world. Its height can reach 4.8 to 5.5 meters and its
weight about 1360 pounds. Giraffe has a unique characteristic. They have a very long neck
and two small horns on its head. Giraffes have big brown eyes and protected by thick and
long eyebrows. Her body is covered with a unique pattern that is attached by brown spots all
over their body.
Just like camels, giraffes can survive without drinking for long time because giraffes
can rely on the water contained in leaves they eat. Giraffes are very selective in choosing
food. They always eat young leaves that grow in the tree tops. Their tongue shaped like a
knife help them to cut branches which are very hard.
Female giraffes can start pregnant at the age of five years, with a gestation period of
15 months. Commonly female giraffe bear one baby, but sometimes two babies at once.
Giraffes bear its baby with a standing position. When the baby is about to be born, they just
drop it to the ground from a 1.5 meter of height. Baby giraffe can stand with about 20
minutes since being born, and begin breastfeeding within an hour of birth.
