ABSTRAK

Pemahaman konsep seorang siswa yang sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran sangatlah
penting, karena siswa akan menerima pembelajaran yang berkesan dan diingat dalam
waktu lama, oleh sebab itu penggunaan media pop up book adalah salah satu media yang
mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk
mengetahui pengaruh Media Pop up book terhadap Pemahaman Konsep IPA Siswa Kelas
V di SD Negeri 1 Blang Mangat. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah
kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi eksperimen. Populasi yang dimiliki 71 siswa kelas V
yang terdiri dari 3 kelas, maka dengan teknik purposive sampling sampel yang terpilih
adalah 23 siswa kelas Va sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 23 siswa kelas Vb sebagai kelas
kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes awal dan tes akhir sebanyak
25 soal pilihan ganda, Teknik analisis data menggunakan SPSS Versi 21. Berdasarkan
data yang telah dianalisis maka didapatkan adanya pengaruh media pop up book terhadap
pemahaman konsep IPA siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 1 Blang Mangat, karena terdapat
peningkatan nilai rata-rata posttest pemahaman konsep untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar
79.30 dan untuk kelas kontrol sebesar 71,13. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji
Independen Sample T-Test didapatkan thitung > ttabel = 2.467 > 1.68 dan singnifikan 0,018 <
0,05, maka dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tolak H0 dan terima Ha yang
bahwa terdapat pengaruh media pop up book terhadap pemahaman konsep IPA siswa
kelas V di SD Negeri 1 Blang Mangat. Media pop up book disertai dengan metode atau
model pembelajaran lebih efektif, karena media tersebut bisa digunakan dimana saja,
selama pembahasan yang ada dalam media pop up book seragam dengan materi yang
akan dibahas.

 ABSTRACT

Understanding a student's concept in accordance with learning objectives is very

important, because students will receive learning that is memorable and remembered for
a long time, therefore the use of pop up book media is one of the media that can improve
students' understanding of concepts. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of
Pop up book Media on the Understanding of Science Concepts for Class V Students at SD
Negeri 1 Blang Mangat. The type of research used by researchers is quantitative with a
quasi-experimental approach. The population of 71 students consisting of 3 classes, then
by purposive sampling technique the sample selected was 23 students in class VB as the
experimental class and 23 students in class VA as the control class. The data collection
technique used was the initial test and the final test, while the data analysis technique for
proving the hypothesis used SPSS Version 21. Based on the data that has been analyzed,
it was found that there was an influence of pop up book media on the understanding of
the science concept of class V students at SD Negeri 1 Blang Mangat , because there is
an increase in the posttest average value of understanding the concept for the
experimental class of 79.30 and for the control class of 71.13. Testing the hypothesis
using the Independent Sample T-Test test on the posttest value obtained tcount > ttable =
2.467 > 1.68 and a significance of 0.018 <0.05, so it can be concluded that reject H0 and
accept Ha which means that there is an influence of pop up book media on conceptual
understanding Science class V students at SD Negeri 1 Blang Mangat. The implication
given is that the application of pop up book media accompanied by more effective
learning methods or models, because these media can be used anywhere, as long as the
discussion in the pop up book media is uniform with the material to be discussed.
