Woman : Hi. How are you?
Man : Pretty Good
So, have you ever been to another country?
Woman : Yes, I have. I’ve been to quite a few different countries.
Man : What was the last country you visited?
Woman : The last country I have visited was the United States. I went to New York in the
summer.
Man : Oh, amazing. Did you like it there?
Woman : Loved it. It’s an amazing city. The city that has never sleeps. There’s always stuff
going on, things to see, things to do, people to watch. Museums are fantastic. Good
food and shows. We went to a couple of shows that were awesome. How about
you? Have you been to some other countries?
Man : Yes. A few years ago I went to Cuba over the Christmas holidays.
Woman : Wow.
Man : That was really interesting because I’ve always stayed in Canada usually for
Christmas, so I’m used to snow and cold weather.
Woman : Right
Man : but in Cuba it was hot and we stayed on the beach most of the time. It was a lot of
fun but different.
Woman : Yeah, I bet. How about Europe? Have you ever been to any countries there? or
South America or somewhere?
Man : I’ve been to Europe a few times. I’ve been to England, and Scotland, France, and
Italy, and Hungary. Yeah. I love Europe. It’s so fascinating. The museums and art,
the culture is different from what we have here, and it’s really interesting. I hope to
go back some time.

4. Simple Past tense dan Present perfect tense


a. Action
The choice of tense depends on whether the speaker sees something in the past
or linked to the present.
Past: The car broke down yesterday.
Present: The car has broken down.
We use the past simple for a finished time. Sentence 1 does not tell us about
the present – it may be all right now, or it may be still out of action.
The present perfect makes a link to the present. Sentence 2 tells us that it is out
of action now.
When we refer to a specific time in the past (e.g. yesterday), we use the past
simple rather than the present perfect.

b. States
If the state still exists now, we use the present perfect.
I’ve had this motorbike for years.
I’ve been here since three o’clock.

c. Repeated actions
When we use the past simple for repeated actions, it means that the series of
actions is over.

Dian Sastro acted in more than five films. (Her career has over).
Dian Sastro has acted in more than five films. (Her career has continued up to
the present and may or may not be over).

d. Reporting news
We often use the present perfect when we first tell some news, and then we
use the past simple for the details such as when and how it happened.

There has been a serious accident on the M6. It happened at ten o’clock this
morning when a lorry went out of control and collided with a car.

Fase 4 - Peserta didik diminta untuk mengubah kalimat yang 25”
Mengembangkan diberikan pada LKPD 2 menggunakan kata-kata penunjuk
dan menyajikan waktu yang telah disiapkan dengan memperhatikan pola
hasil karya kalimat simple past tense dan present perfect tense

activity 3 kedalam bentuk interogatif (activity 4)
- Peserta didik dipancing untuk dapat membuat kalimat
interogatif secra lisan dengan menampilkan beberpa gambar
