hari dalm teks berbentuk narrative.

B. Tujuan Pembelajaran

- Siswa dapat mengungkapkan makna teks narrative.
- Siswa dapat menentukan generic structure dari teks narrative.
- Siswa dapat menentukan language feature yang terdapat pada teks
narrative.
b. Proses
Siswa diberikan lembar kerja yang berisi sampel teks narrative.
Selanjutnya, diharapkan siswa dapat :
- mengidentifikasi makna teks narrative
- mengidentifikasi letak generic structure pada teks narrative sederhana.
- mengidentifikasi language feature yang terdapat pada teks narrative
sederhana.

2. Psikomotor
- Siswa mendiskusikan makna dari teks narrative sederhana secara
berkelompok.
- Siswa dapat menyatakan letak generic structure pada teks narrative
sederhana.
- Siswa dapat menyatakan language feature yang terdapat pada teks
narrative sederhana.

3. Afektif
- Menunjukkan karakter : gemar membaca, rasa ingin tahu, kerja
keras, jujur, bertanggung jawab, menghargai dan teliti.
- Keterampilan sosial : Menyumbang ide, kerjasama dan

C. Materi Pembelajaran
Narrative Text
Narrative text is a kind of text which tells a story through particular event,
character or phenomenon in detail. It is the most famous type of any text. Folktale,
fable, legend and short story are belong to narrative text. The purpose of this text is
to tell a story and entertain the readers.
Generic structure of narrative text :
1. Orientation
 Introducing the participants and informing the time and place where
happened.
2. Complication
 Describing the rising crisis which participant faced.
3. Evaluation (Optional)
 A flash back to evaluate the serious/ difficult condition
4. Resolution
 Showing the way of participant solve the crisis. It is able ended by
sad or happy ending.
5. Re-orientation (Optional)
 the summary of the story.

Language feature of narrative text :

3. Use adverbial of time and place

Example of Narrative text :


Cinderella
Once upon a time there was a young girl named Cinderella who lived with
her stepmother and two stepsisters. Cinderella‘s stepmother and stepsisters were
conceited and bad tempered. They treated Cinderella very badly. Her stepmother
made Cinderella do the hardest work in the house, such as scrubbing the floor and
cleaning the pots and pans. She gave Cinderella an old ragged dress to wear. The
two stepsisters, on the other hand, did no work about the house, and their mother
gave them many handsome dresses to wear. One day the two stepsisters received
an invitation to a ball that the king‘s son was going to give at the palace. They were
excited about this and spent so much time choosing the dresses they would wear.
At last the day of the ball came, and away went the sisters to it. Cinderella could
not help crying after they had left.
“Why are you crying, Cinderella?” A voice asked. She looked up and saw
her fairy godmother standing beside her.
“Because I want so much to go to the ball,” said Cinderella.
“Well,” said her godmother, “you‘ve been such a cheerful, uncomplaining,
hardworking girl that I am going to see that you do go to the ball”.
Magically, the fairy godmother changed a pumpkin into a fine coach and
mice into a coachman and two footmen. Her godmother tapped Cinderella‘s ragged
dress with her wand, and it became a beautiful ball gown. Then she gave her a pair
of pretty glass slippers.
“Now, Cinderella,” she said, “you must leave before midnight.” Then, away
she drove in her beautiful coach.
Cinderella was having a wonderfully good time. She danced again and again
with the king‘s son. Suddenly, the clock began to strike twelve. She ran towards the
door as quickly as she could. In her hurry, one of her glass slippers came off and
was left behind.
A few days later the king‘s son proclaimed he would marry the girl whose
foot fitted the glass slipper. The king‘s page came to Cinderella‘s house. Her
stepsisters tried on the slipper but it was too small for them no matter how hard they
squeezed their toes into it. The king‘s page let Cinderella try on the slipper. She
stuck out her foot, and the page slipped the slipper on. It fitted perfectly.
Finally, she was driven to the palace. The king‘s son was overjoyed to see her again.
They were married and lived happily ever after.

kelompok.
- Mengidentifikasi generic structure dari
teks narrative sederhana.
- Menentukan language feature yang
terdapat pada teks narrative sederhana.
6. Setiap kelompok mengumpulkan hasil kerja.

1. Siswa membuat simpulan tentang
pembelajaran yang telah diikutinya.

The Legend of Toba Lake
Once upon time, there was a handsome man. His name was Batara Guru
Sahala. He liked fishing. One day, he caught a fish. He was surprised to find out
that the fish could talk. The fish begged him to set it free.
Batara Guru could not bear it. He made the fish free. As soon as it was free,
the fish changed into a very beautiful woman. She attracted Batara Guru so much.
He felt in love with that fishwoman. The woman wanted to marry with him and said
that Batara Guru had to keep the secret which she had been a fish. Batara Guru
agreed and promised that he would never tell anybody about it.
They were married happily. They had two daughters. One day Batara Guru
got very angry with his daughter. He could not control his mad. He shouted angrily
and got the word of fish to his daughters. The daughters were crying. They found
their mother and talked her about it.
The mother was very annoyed. Batara Guru broke his promise. The mother
was shouting angrily. Then the earth began to shake. Volcanoes started to erupt.
The earth formed a very big hole. People believed that the big hole became a lake.
Then this lake is known as Toba Lake.

Its purpose is to entertain the reader. Examples of narrative texts are legend,
short story, folktale, myth, etc.

THE MONKEYS AND THE CAP SELLER

Once upon a time, a cap seller was passing through a jungle. He was very tired and
needed to rest. Then, he stopped and spread a cloth under a tree. He placed his bag full of caps
near him and lay down with his cap on his head.

The cap seller had a sound sleep for one hour. When he got up, the first thing he did was
to look into his bag. He was startled when he found all his caps were not there.
When he looked up the sky, he was very surprised to see monkeys sitting on the branches of a
tree, each of the monkeys is wearing a cap of on its head. They had evidently done it to imitate
him

He decided to get his caps back by making a humble request to the monkeys. In return,
the monkeys only made faces of him. When he begun to make gesture, the monkeys also
imitated him.

At last he found a clever idea. " Monkeys are a great imitator," he said. So he took off
his own cap and threw it down on the ground. And as he had expected, all the monkeys took
off the caps and threw the caps down on the ground. Quickly, he stood up and collected the
caps, put them back into his bag and went away.
