ABSTRACT
This research aims to study the existence of a relationship between intelligence and
academic achievement at the faculty of psychology X. The research method used in this
study was quantitative research by collecting data from sources that have been made
about the documents required in this study, referred to as the documentation method. The
analysis used in this research was the analysis looking for the relationship between
variables and seeking a strong relationship between intelligence variables and academic
achievement. Based on this research, the results showed the existence of a relationship
between intelligence and students' academic achievement, and there was also a
significant positive relationship between intelligence variables and academic
presentation. This is supported by research data, which added the coefficient r = 0.442
and the significance p = 0.000<0,05. Intellectual contribution to academic achievement
was classified in the moderate category (r = 0,442); also, the effective contribution rate
of intelligence to academic achievement was 19,8%. This indicates that there are
variables other than the intelligence factor determining the academic outcome, one of
which is the factor of students’ interest in learning.
