Latar Belakang - Penyakit kencing manis atau Diabetes Mellitus (DM)

merupakan penyakit menahun yang ditandai dengan kadar gula darah melebihi
nilai normal (hiperglikemia). Prevalensi menurut WHO (World Health
Organization) pada tahun 2015 sebanyak 9,1 juta orang di dunia yang menderita
penyakit diabetes mellitus. diabetes mellitus tipe 2 ditandai dengan resistensi
insulin ketika hormon insulin diproduksi dengan jumlah yang tidak efektif.
Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2 juga rentan terhadap infeksi luka kaki yang kemudian
berkembang menjadi gangren, yang dapat meningkatkan kasus amputasi. Banyak
faktor cara untuk dapat mengurangi perluasan infeksi luka gangren, salah satunya
metode perawatan luka yang digunakan yaitu perawatan luka tradisional,
konvensional dan modern care. Tujuan – penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui dan menggambarkan pengelolaan keperawatan luka gangren kaki
diabetik pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II di ruang Jlamprang RSUD Bendan
Kota Pekalongan. Metoda – Jenis metode yang digunakan adalah metode
deskriptif, menggunakan teknik sampling purposive sampling method dengan
jumlah dua responden. selanjutnya dengan melakukan observasi sebelum
diberikan tindakan dan respon setelah diberikan tindakan asuhan keperawatan.
Hasil – Hasil studi kasus menunjukkan kedua responden pasien belum bebas dari
tanda-tanda infeksi dengan perawatan luka konvensional dalam waktu 3x24 jam
dan perbedaan hasil kedua pasien sangat tergantung pada motivasi dengan
keluarga kurang dalam pendidikan, motivasi individu dan faktor kebiasaan.Maka
perlu memberikan pengetahuan tentang penyebab, tanda gejala, pencegahan luka
infeksi dan penatalaksanaan merawat luka diabetes mellitus terutama perawatan
mandiri di rumah.

 ABSTRACT

Background - Diabetes or Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease

characterized by blood sugar levels that exceed normal values (hyperglycemia).
According to the WHO (World Health Organization) prevalence in 2015 as many
as 9.1 million people in the world suffer from diabetes mellitus. Type 2 diabetes
mellitus is characterized by insulin resistance when the insulin hormone is
produced in an ineffective amount. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is also susceptible to
foot wound infections which then develop into gangrene, which can increase cases
of amputation. Many factors are ways to reduce the expansion of gangrenous
wound infections, one of which is the wound care method used, namely
traditional, conventional and modern care. Objective - this study aims to find out
and describe the management of diabetic foot gangrene wounds in patients with
type II diabetes mellitus in the Jlamprang room of RSUD Bendan, Pekalongan
City. Method - The type of method used is descriptive method, using purposive
sampling method with two respondents. then by observing before giving action
and response after being given nursing care measures. Results - Results - The
results of the case study showed that both patient respondents were not free from
signs of infection with conventional wound care within 3x24 hours and the
difference in the results of both patients was very dependent on motivation with
less family in education, individual motivation and habitual factors. causes,
symptom signs, prevention of infection wounds and management of treating
diabetes mellitus wounds, especially self-care at home.
