PEMBAHASAN
tentang culture care around the globe. Dia telah mempublikasikan jurnal yang berjudul
The Journal of Transcultural Nursing in 1989 yang telah direvisi selam 6 tahun. Dia

2.2 Teori Madeleine Leininger (Cultural Diversity and Universality)
Garis besar teori Leininger adalah tentang culture care diversity and universality,
asuhan keperawatan.
5. Worldview
Cara seseorang memandang dunianya
6. Ethnohistory
mengambil keputusan, guna meningkatkan kualitas kesehatannya.
keperawatan.
Leininger's theory has been tested using research methods in various cultures. In
1995, over 100 cultures have been studied studied. In addition, it is used to test the
theory of ethnonursing. This transcultural nursing theory is the only theory that
specifically addresses the importance of exploring a patient's culture to meet his needs.
6
The studies that have been conducted on ethnogeography are done in families
that one of the family members has an acute neurological disorder. The thing seen here,
is how healthy family members keep family members who have neurological disorders.
Finally, healthy family members are interviewed and observed to obtain data. It turns out
they are taking care of sick family members, for about 24 hours. Only one person did not
participate to care for sick members. After review, there are several factors that influence
the care of healthy family members to keep members sick. Factor tesebut, dintaranya is a
commitment in caring, emotional upheaval, dynamic family relationships, transition and
fortitude. This discovery explains a real understanding. That care for the patient is an
expression of caring traits and contributes to the knowledge of culturally sensitive care.
The purpose of the second study was to identify and analyze the expression of
the carb properties of Anglo Americans and African Americans in long-term sift caring
using qualitative ethonursing methods. Data were collected from 40 participants,
including Anglo Americans and African Americans, nursing staff, and service providers.
lifestyle preadmission, professional and satisfactory care for the population, a large
difference between appartments and residents' homes, and a cultural institution that
reflects the motive and practice of nursing. This invention is useful for the community
and professional staff to develop the theory of culture care diversity and universality.
2.6.2 Education
7
not only take care of clients who have the same culture as themselves. In fact, they can
also face clients who come from outside the country of Indonesia.
2.6.3 Colaboration
Maintaining a culture is done when the patient's culture is not contrary to health.
Nursing planning and implementation are provided in accordance with relavan
values, such as exercise culture every morning.
The restructuring of client culture is done when the culture possesses harm the
health status. Nurses attempt to restructure the lifestyle of clients who usually
smoke to be non-smoking. The chosen lifestyle pattern is usually more favorable and
in accordance with the beliefs held.
8
tendency of health workers (nurses), either silently or openly imposing cultural values,
beliefs, and customs
For example, a patient with kidney failure has a habit of always eating with chili
sauce so that if there is no sauce the patient will not eat. It is the duty of the nurse to
examine it because it is related to the patient's healing and comfort in providing nursing
care. There are 3 ways of implementing nursing actions that have different cultural or
habitual backgrounds. In this case, the nurse should examine the side effects of chili on
the patient's renal failure, whether it has a negative or no effect. If the negative impact of
course as care giver nurses should restructure the habits of patients by changing the
lifestyle of patients with things that help the patient healing but not make patients feel
uncomfortable so in the provision of nursing care.
Understanding the client's culture by the nurse greatly affects the effectiveness
of the success of creating nurse and client relationships that are therapeutic. If nurses do
not understand the culture of the client will arise a sense of disbelief that there will be no
therapeutic relationship.

CHAPTER III
CLOSING
3.1 Conclusion
The main line of Leininger theory is about culture care diversity and universality, or
better known as transcultural nursing. Focused on cultural values, beliefs, and health services
based on culture, as well as in his theories discusses special culture, culture care, diversity,
universality, worldview, ethnohistory. The purpose of the use of transcultural nursing is to
develop science and humanistic scientific tree, so as to create nursing practice on a specific and
universal culture. In this theory there are several advantages and also shortcomings that need
to be improved and maintained. In addition, this theory can also be applied in various fields
In the field of research, the theory of Leininger has been tested using research methods
in various cultures, where the findings are useful for society and professional staff to develop
transcultural nursing theory. In the field of education, Leininger develops Transcultural Nursing
in the field of courses and in a nursing school program. Leininger's theory has had an enormous
influence on the nursing learning process that exists in the world because it is essential to
creating culturally sensitive professional care.
In the field of Transcultural Nursing theory management can be applied when service
delivery using the local language used by the patient. This allows the patient to feel more
comfortable, and closer to the healthcare provider. In the healthy and ill aspects, Leininger
describes it as highly dependent, and is determined by culture, because culture will affect a
person to appreciate his or her illness.
