Rancangan Undang-Undang (RUU) Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja(Ciptaker) akhirnya diketok

menjadi UU pada Senin (5/10) lalu, di tengah maraknya demonstrasi dan petisi agar RUU itu
tidak disahkan.

Bagi mereka yang kontra, Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja dinilai sangat memberatkan para pekerja,
termasuk para calon pekerja yang kini masih berstatus mahasiswatingkat akhir atau baru lulus
kuliah pada tahun ini.

Pendapat saya mengenai disahkannya RUU Cipta Kerja, mengacu pada poin "sanksi pidana pada
perusahaan yang telat membayar karyawannya dihilangkan". Poin tersebut sangat memberatkan
pihak pekerja, karena ini sama saja mematikan pekerja dan membuat para pengusaha bebas
membayar upah pekerjanya kapan saja tanpa dikenai sanksi. Berdasarkan poin tersebut,
dampaknya para pengusaha tidak lagi terkena denda dikarenakan telat membayar upah pekerja.

Kalau saya, persiapan menghadapi Omnibus Law ini dengan cara mendalami skill saya untuk
lebih siap bersaing dengan TKA yang nantinya akan bebas bekerja di Indonesia. Harapan saya,
semoga para anggota yang katanya DPRini akan mengkaji ulang berbagai poin-poin yang dapat
meresahkan warganya sendiri.”

The Draft Law (RUU) on the Omnibus Law on Employment Creation (Ciptaker) was finally
ruled into law on Monday (5/10), amidst rampant demonstrations and petitions for the bill not to
be passed.

For those who are contra, the Job Creation Omnibus Law is considered to be very burdensome
for workers, including prospective workers who are currently still graduate students or have just
graduated from college this year.

My opinion regarding the passage of the Job Creation Bill, refers to the point "that the criminal
sanctions for companies that are late paying their employees are removed". This point is very
burdensome for the workers, because this is tantamount to killing workers and making employers
free to pay their workers' wages at any time without being subject to sanctions. Based on these
points, the impact is that employers are no longer subject to fines for being late in paying
workers' wages.

For me, I prepare to face the Omnibus Law by deepening my skills to be better prepared to
compete with foreign workers who will be free to work in Indonesia. My hope is that the
members who are said to be the DPR will review various points that can upset their own citizens.
