ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang:
Pendahuluan : Pertusis dikenal dengan whooping cough atau batuk rejan yang yang banyak
menyerang anak balita dengan kematian yang tertinggi pada anak usia di bawah enam bulan yang
disebabkan infeksi Bordetella pertusis. Penyakit ini di tandai oleh suatu sindrom yang terdiri dari
batuk yang sangat spasmodik dan paroksimal disertai nada yang meninggi , karena penderita
berupaya keras untuk menarik nafas sehingga pada akhir batuk sering di sertai bunyi yang khas
(whoop), sehingga penyakit ini disebut Whooping cough. Kasus : dilaporkan seorang anak laki-
laki berusia 7 tahun 9 bulan datang dengan keluhan batuk lendir yang dirasakan memberat di
malam hari. Batuk kuat yang diikuti bunyi melengking pada saat menarik napas disertai wajah
bertambah merah kebiruan sampai terihat pembuluh darah disekitar leher saat batuk, nyeri dada
hingga sesak. Pasien mengalami rhinitis, perdaharan di konjungtiva, demam dan mual muntah.
Kesimpulan: Batuk merupakan salah satu keluhan yang paling sering terjadi pada anak-anak dan
penyebabnya bermacam-macam. Imunisasi aktif dan diagnosis dini sangat penting dalam
pengelolaan pertusis.

ABSTRACT
Background:
Pertussis is known as whooping cough or whooping cough which mostly affects children under
five with the highest mortality in children under six months due to infection with Bordetella
pertussis. This disease is characterized by a syndrome consisting of a very spasmodic and
paroxysmal cough accompanied by a rising tone, because the patient tries hard to catch his breath
so that at the end of the cough it is often accompanied by a distinctive sound (whoop), so this
disease is called Whooping cough. Case: it was reported that a boy aged 7 years and 9 months
came with complaints of coughing up mucus that felt worse at night. A strong cough followed by
a shrill sound when inhaling accompanied by a bluish red face that shows blood vessels around
the neck when coughing, chest pain to tightness. The patient has rhinitis, bleeding in the
conjunctiva, fever and nausea and vomiting. Conclusion: Cough is one of the most common
complaints in children and has various causes. Active immunization and early diagnosis are very
important in the management of pertussis.
