DEFINISI
 Patogenisitas [Gr. "pathos", nyeri]: kemampuan untuk
menyebabkan penyakit
 Pathogen: organisme penyebab penyakit
 Pathogenesis: mekanisme organisme mengakibatkan penyakit pada
host
 Penyakit dapat terjadi akibat:
• injury (trauma) sekumpulan sel
• infeksi organ
• menyebabkan tanda dan gejala penyakit
 Virulence: kemampuan utk menimbulkan sakit berat, cacat, atau
kematian
 Beratnya penyakit tergantung pada :
 Dosis virus
 Jalur masuk
 Efisiensi replikasi
PATOGENESIS VIRUS
Patogenesis virus tergantung pada interaksi antara virus
dan host

 Mencakup progresifitas infeksi dari tempat masuk virus

melalui penyebaran, respon imunitas host dan mekanisme
pembuangan atau bertahannya virus dalam tubuh

 Patogenesis juga mencakup proses terjadinya penyakit

akibat adanya infeksi, variasi patogenisitas virus dan
daya tahan host terhadapa infeksi atau penyakit
