Informed Consent
• Persetujuan Termaklum
• The process in which a health care provider educates a patient
about the risks, benefits, and alternatives of a given
procedure or intervention.
• The patient must be competent to make a voluntary decision
about whether to undergo the procedure or intervention.
• Informed consent is when a healthcare provider — like a
doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional — explains a
medical treatment to a patient before the patient agrees to it.
• This type of communication lets the patient ask questions and
accept or deny treatment.

processes involved in a particular patient care
situation,
• encourage reflection on those actions and thought
processes, and incorporate improvement into future
performance.
Protection of Participants

participants. Normally, the risk of harm must be no greater
than in ordinary life.
• Participants should not be exposed to risks greater than or
additional to those encountered in their normal lifestyles.
• They must ensure that the research has a valid scientific
purpose, the study design is appropriate,
• the risks to participants are minimal, and the benefits
outweigh the risks.
• Because the primary goal of any IRB is to protect human
participants, any studies involving human.
