Keperawatan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik total sampling sebanyak 134
mahasiswa. Alat pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner Motivation Strategies Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ)
ABSTRACT
The ability to operate an electrocardiogram (EKG) is one of the skills that all nursing students must master.
Variations of dysrhythmias make interpreting EKG more challenging. Therefore, nursing students must have a
high level of motivation to learn using it. This study identified the level of motivation of nursing students at the
Faculty of Nursing of Universitas Syiah Kuala in learning how to operate an electrocardiogram. This study was
an exploratory-descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The respondents involved in this study were 134
nursing students. Modified Motivation Strategies Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) was used as the research
instrument. The results showed that the level of motivation of the majority of the nursing students in learning
how to use the electrocardiogram was in the high category, with 111 students (82.8%). In comparison, 23
students (17.2%) were in the moderate category, and none of the students fell into the category of low
motivation. These findings suggest that the majority of the students are highly motivated to learn to operate
electrocardiograms. The lecturers who teach EKG are urged to diversify their teaching strategies, one of which
is by teaching digital applications.
